Young people – We need you! Our Diocesan Day is taking place at St Brendan’s College Bristol on Saturday 6th July. We are looking for young people of school Year 10 and beyond to be an important part of the team. Your task is to be the face of the diocese by introducing speakers and workshops, signposting people and making people welcome. You will also have the opportunity to take on the Climbing Wall and Archery range as part of your day! We invite you to a training day on Saturday 15th June 10.00am – 3.00pm at St Brendan’s. If you and your friends would like to take part email [email protected] and we’ll send you more information.

Canon Michael Fitzpatrick – Golden Jubilee: Parishioners are warmly invited to a special Mass and reception to be held in Salisbury Cathedral at 7.00pm on 7th June 2019 to mark the Golden Jubilee of Ordination of Canon Michael Fitzpatrick. Canon Michael is fondly remembered by many St Peter’s parishioners from when he was assistant priest (1975-1984) and parish priest (1997 – 2006) here. Canon Michael, who is currently parish priest of Salisbury, is retiring from active ministry in the autumn. We are hoping to arrange a coach should there be enough interest. Please add your name to the list at the back of church if interested in attending. Further details to follow.

Clifton Diocese- Year of Prayer Our Gospel this Sunday invites us to reflect on two important matters of faith. The first is our capacity to recognise the presence of Christ in our lives, even when we don’t see him. The disciples only realise that Jesus is with them when he tells them to put their nets out to starboard. Suddenly after a night of failing to catch anything, their nets are full to bursting. Then it dawns on them who is speaking to them. We do not have that luxury but if we have faith then we will experience him as alive, risen and present. He is there during our joys and sorrows, when we encourage one another, when we share a meal of friendship and specifically when we share in the Eucharist. Secondly, we are invited to respond to the question asked of Peter: ‘Do you love me?’ What answer would we give to this? Can we answer confidently that, despite all our failings, ‘Yes Lord, I do love you’?

Next Weekend: Sunday 12th May 2019- 4th Sunday of Easter (Year C) Acts 13:14. 43-52 Apocalypse 7:9. 14-17 John 10:27-30
