Pahiyas Festival is celebrated by people in Lucban, Quezon give thanks to San Isidro Labrador, the PatronSaint of farmers, for a good harvest. Houses are elaborately decorated with brightly coloured rice wafer, calledkiping, a type of rice dough made from a traditional recipe. Fruits, grain, vegetables, and woven palm hats are
used as decorations. In the Afternoon, San Isidro Labrador's image is carried across town in a procession to
assure farmers of more bountiful harvests in forthcoming seasons. Pahiyas began during the Spanish era when
Spaniards introduced the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro Labrador, to the people of Lucban. Filipinos then
honored San Isidro on his feast day, May 15, by bringing their harvests to church to be blessed by a priest.
Eventually, the tradition turned into a house decorating contest with harvested crops and the leaf-shaped ricewafer kiping, giving birth to the Pahiyas that is known today. Dont miss this golden chance to watch it and

suit any wallet, historic landmarks, bars and discos, cinemas and theaters, and everything else you need for

is another interesting place which highlights Cebuano history and heritage, such as the first Catholic baptism,
the battle of Mactan (in which Ferdinand Magellan was killed), the major churches of Cebu, a Spanish galleon, and a Catholic mass. St. Catherines Church is a picturesque location. Santo Nio Basilica is church which wasbuilt in the 18th century, at the spot of an earlier, 16th century, church, and elevated to the rank of minor
basilica by Pope Paul VI.Inside the church is a museum devoted to the history of Christianity in Cebu.
To be visited by a cruise, Bohol is most famous for its photogenic Chocolate Hills that get their brown colorduring the dry season when the grass covering the hills dries up. Over thousand (1776 to be exact) of evenlyshaped cones turn into chocolate brown every year and make for great scenery for your photography skills. The
waters surrounding Bohol harbour a large diversity of sea life and largely untouched coral reefs. Tarsiers, one
of the World's smallest primates, inhabit the island of Bohol.
