SAP BusinessObjects Analysis Applications

Analysis applications are Web applications that allow users to analyze data from SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW) and SAP HANA. They are created using the SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio.

The design studio uses latest technologies including HTML 5 rendering and the Eclipse plug-in for designers.

SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards

SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards (created with a Dashboard Builder) are corporate dashboards with analytics based on Universe queries . They are rich in look and feel, and provide support for the following features on Mobile:

● Query pane based data connectivity● Hierarchies in tables● Add-on components● Maps, radar, bubble charts, waterfall charts, menus (such as Picture Menu, Accordion menu), list-builder

selectors, and check-box tickers.● The Nova style theme

Hyperlink objects

Hyperlink objects can be created in the BI LaunchPad. A hyperlink object has a name and a URL. On tapping a hyperlink document in the app, it opens a Web view within the application to render the URL contents (the hyperlink does not open the browser on device).

Visualizations (Based on the SAP Lumira Server and SAP Lumira Cloud Application)

The SAP Lumira Cloud application allows users to explore datasets and create visualizations that are stored on the cloud. It also allows you to upload, share, and delete SAP Lumira documents (.svid), SAP Crystal Reports documents, Design Studio files, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel worksheets, and CSV files. It also allows you to share visualizations with other individual users.

NoteFiles can only be shared with individuals using the iPad app, and not teams. For more information on the SAP Lumira server, refer to the SAP Lumira Cloud User guide available at http://help.sap.com/boall_en

your iPad or iPhone. Exploration views and information spaces are created in the web version of SAP BusinessObjects Explorer and made available in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform.

Select an Explorer document and then add dimensions and measures, edit filters and intuitively explore your data.

4.5.1 Exploring your data

Once you have opened an information space or an exploration view you use the same ways to explore the data in both data sets. There is no pre-defined way to explore. The data is already presented in a visual format that is easy to navigate, so you can start by tapping values in the tables and charts that interest you to get more details, or refining the exploration by adding dimensions to filter the data.

4.5.1.1 Facets

Facets are variables through which the data of a data set is presented for viewing, analysis and filtering. A facet is essentially a dimension of the data being explored. Factes are mainly used to filter data.

4.5.1.2 Measures

A measure is an object that represents calculations and aggregate functions that map to statistical and analytic data in the dataset. By default, one measure is already selected and used in the chart. This is the main measure. You can change the main measure and add more measures.

Measures represent the factual information.

4.5.1.3 Dimensions

A dimension is an object that maps to one or more table columns or a function in a database and represents an axis of analysis. For example, Product, Geography, Time, and Employee are common dimensions. By default, one dimensions is already selected and used in the chart. This is the main dimension. You can change the main dimension and add more dimensions.

Dimensions represent contextual information.

4.5.1.4 Visualizations

Data is presented in the chart type that is most suitable for the selected values, but you can choose from a wide variety of chart types to display your data. Comparison, Part of a whole, Geographic and Time and Series charts are available for you to choose from depending on the selected measures and dimensions.

To get more detailed information on a section of a chart, tap the data point that you want to examine. Since all the tables and graphs are interactive, when you tap one value, the same value is highlighted everywhere it appears in other visuals or tables. A pop up also appears showing more details on the selected value.

4.5.1.5 Augmented views

Augmented Explorer views allow you to analyze geo-localized data based on pre-defined points of interest (POI). These POI are defined by Explorer administrators on the Explorer server. When you add a dimension that is formatted to activate POI, the augmented views icon appears. Tap this icon to start the augmented view on a geo-map.

On the iPad

Tap the icon to start the augmented views.

On the iPhone
