Resume Lab
Get your resume noticed!
The old adage “you only get one chance to make a great
first impression” is true and that includes your resume. Hiring
managers only spend about 30 seconds on a resume when
deciding which resumes they want to review further.
The experts in the Resume Lab will review your resume
and provide you with a personalized detailed review that will
help get your resume to the top of the stack.
They will review your resume for common mistakes like
spelling and grammar, typos, lack of specific details, how to
highlight your accomplishments, improve your objective, what
important information is need, and help with the visual look of
your resume to get your resume noticed.
Our resume experts are provided by:

What to do AFTER the Boot Camp
If you haven’t already done so, create or update your
LinkedIn profile. Be sure to include a link to your LinkedIn
profile on your resume and in your follow up email. This will
allow the recruiter to forward that information on to others in
their organization if they need to.
Send an email thanking the recruiter for speaking with you
within a day or two. Use your notes and business cards you
have from the Job Boot Camp to refresh your memory of
conversations with employers. Mention something about
what you discussed in your email to refresh the recruiter’s
memory of you. Be sure to write the email in formal business
style and not as if you are texting or emailing your friends.
Be sure to follow through on any suggestions on what you
should do next whether it is to apply online, or to contact
someone else in the company, follow up on those next step
items and update them on your progress in your thank you
email. Show the recruiter that you are serious about your job
search and that you are interested and enthusiastic about
working for their organization. Also, stay in touch with the
recruiter and any networking contacts you have made
including on LinkedIn.
