Today’s Services
If you are new or visiting, we hope you feel at home. If you require help, do speak to one of the Stewards in the foyer. Feel free to fill in a welcome card and pick up a guide from the welcome desk if you would like to get involved or join a Network.
EXPLORERS is the Children’s Network for 0-11s. Each week we begin in church before going to our groups in the Church Centre. Children need to be collected at 12.00 noon. ROOTS is our Network for 11-18s. We meet down in the Church Centre at 10.20am each Sunday morning and on Friday night from 7-9pm in the Church Centre.
STUDENTS are an integral part of the community here and we run student networks during term time. See the network board in the foyer for details.
REFRESHMENTS are served after services in the Community Room.
INDUCTION LOOP St George’s is fitted with an induction loop; please speak to a Steward for assistance.
PASTORAL CARE We are seeking to be a community where everyone can be supported and cared for. We encourage you to ask for support, or get someone to ask on your behalf and we will respond as best we can.
GIVING There is an opportunity to give during the service. If you intend to give regularly, please pick up Standing Order and Gift Aid forms in the foyer. PRAYER MINISTRY is offered during and after services at the front of church. If you would like to pray about anything, please ask one of our trained prayer ministers.

Sat 19 Oct, Centre St George’s Creative Day is open to all aged 12 and over, and will enable us to explore the creative gifts God gave us through a wide range of activities. Sign-up sheets and flyers are in the foyer. Price (including lunch) £7.50 half day or £10 full day. This is an ideal opportunity to invite your non-Christian friends. Each session has limited space so early sign-up is advised. A deposit of £5 will be collected before the event.
In a few weeks time five people from St G's are going on a short term mission project to Bethlehem. Fiona McGill and Laura Proctor will be working in a hospital who have asked us for 'used but good' white coats or surgical uniforms. We will be taking some new ones but would be delighted to receive any that medical staff might like to donate. Please contact Fiona, Laura or David Kibble.
7.30pm, Wed 9 Oct, Armley All are welcome to this Christian Medical Fellowship event for students and junior doctors. It’s a great opportunity to get to know other medics and share food together, exploring serving God through medicine. For more info including directions, email Katie Mayers.
If you are looking for a fun and exciting way to serve at St G's then the Children's Team could be just the place! We need volunteers for the Explorers groups on Sunday mornings and also some one-off events: the Light Party on 19th Oct (4-6pm) and Holiday Club which is 29th-30th Oct (10am-12). 10.30am, Sat 12 October, Harrogate We are now heading into Autumn and are returning to Harrogate for a 9-10 mile round walk. Please email Lindsey for further info if you would like to join the walk. Friends, dogs etc welcome!
7.30pm, Mondays, Centre Good singers with a heart for worship are invited to join St George’s Choir. There is no audition. Weekly practices will take place until the event on Sun 15 Dec. [email protected]

12.30pm, Sundays, Centre Our International Student Network meets each Sunday after the morning service. We will have lunch together, then hear a talk with a chance to discuss in small groups. All international students are invited, along with anyone who would like to welcome them.
5.30pm, Sundays, Centre If you are a student, head down to the church centre before the 18.30 service to share a hot meal and to get to know some other students at St George’s. Your first week is free, and only £1 after that.
CREATIVE DAY
8pm, Mon 21 Oct, 6 Adel Pasture We will be meeting to view a video of a lecture on the nature of Evil and then discuss the impact of science on this - it should be a good discussion! All are welcome. Please email Paul for more info.

1.45pm, Thu 17 Oct, Leeds Methodist, Oxford Place Please join Bishop John Packer and Rev Dr Liz Smith to ‘put people before profit’ by learning more about Leeds City Credit Union. There will be a discussion about the Church's response to high cost lending followed by an opportunity to sign up to LCCU.
10am, Sat 19 Oct, Outwood House, Horsforth We invite you to come and hear an overview of WYSOCS’ past year and plans for the year ahead. The format will be lively, with short presentations on each aspect of the work interspersed with questions, refreshments and chatting. Dr Mark Pike, from the University of Leeds, will join us to give a talk on “C.S. Lewis: teacher for our time”. A hot lunch is provided; we’re asking for £10 to cover this and refreshments. This project is in need of female volunteers to join the evening outreach team, working with women involved in prostitution in Leeds. The evening team head out to meet the girls, provide food, a friendly face and a connection to wider help and support. If you’re interested in joining the team or would like more info about what is involved please contact Jackie Hird.

Young people aged 11-15 across Leeds gain new creative arts skills to use in their churches supported by peers and accompanying adults. A £3.50 fee includes refreshments. Space is a network of 15 interdenominational Christian youth groups across the city. Our vision is simple - we want to impact the young people of this city with the Gospel!
