DictatorshipA dictatorship is a

form of government in

which the government is

ruled by an individual, the

dictator, usually without hereditary

ascension.

DomesticationDomestication

is the taming of a

population of animals or plants that

become accustomed

to an environment

such as a farm.

Economy• Is the system of how money is made

and used within a particular country or region. A region's economy is connected with things like how many goods and services are produced and how much money people can spend on these things.

Economic Systems• Traditional: people grow and make all the

things they need to live.

• Market: people own their own business and set the cost of the goods sold.

• Command: the government owns and controls businesses and sets cost of goods sold.

• Mixed: a combination of traditional, market, and command economies. USA for example.

Traditional Economy

• Is an underdeveloped economy in which communities use primitive tools and methods to harvest and hunt for food, often resulting in little economic growth.

Command Economy

• An economy where supply and price are regulated by the government rather than market forces.

Market Economy• A system of

allocating resources based only on the interaction of market forces, such as supply and demand. A true market economy is free of governmental influence, collusion and other external interference.

Mixed Economy• A mixed economy is an

economic system that includes a variety of public and government control, or a mixture of capitalism and socialism. The United States of America and Canada have mixed economies.

Egypt Ancient Egypt was an

ancient civilization in eastern North Africa, along the Nile River in what is now the modern nation of Egypt.

The civilization began around 3150 B.C.

Empire• An empire is an

extensive group of states or ethnic peoples united and ruled over by a single monarch or ruling authority.

meaning “scared writing.” • A system of written

language where pictures are used as symbols representing sounds, ideas, or objects. It is the formal Egyptian writing found on temples, pyramids, and important building in Ancient Egypt.

society is one whose primary

method for survival

involves the gathering of edible plants

and the hunting of animals from

the wild.

Import / Export• an import is any good (e.g. a commodity) or

service brought into one country from another country for sale.

• An export is a good (e.g. a commodity) or service

that is sent from one country to another country for sale.

An import in the receiving country is an

export to the sending country.

Immigration / Immigrant

• Immigration refers to the movement of people (Immigrant) who move to a new country to permanently settle there.

Interdependent • When two or

more groups need each

other in order for

something to work.

IrrigationA way to bring water into an area to supply the needs of

humans and/or crops.
