About The Undocuship Matrix The “Undocuship Matrix” is a scholarship guide created by College Depot at Phoenix Public Library, located on the second floor of
Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix, Arizona, has been compiled through a number of scholarship resources to specifically
benefit Undocumented (non-U.S. citizens or residents) and DACA-Eligible students who live in Arizona. The scholarships are
organized in order of month, Arizona-Specific Scholarships, and General Scholarship Resources outside of this particular resource.
Make sure that you look through these sources to confirm updated deadlines in addition to checking the websites of the
scholarships themselves. At the time of the creation of this document, not all of the upcoming scholarship deadlines had been
posted or updated. When you see “Projected Deadline,” this means that the scholarship website has not yet updated their
scholarship site, and College Depot has predicted the approximate deadline. Also look at College Depot’s website,
https://www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org/collegedepot/Pages/Scholarships.aspx for other scholarships and any updates, in addition to
scholarship application and essay tips.
DACA Eligible— What does that mean? Those who are qualified for DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals as defined by the United States Citizenship and
Immigration Services, are individuals who meet the following qualifications and have received their DACA approved;
This scholarship guide highlights DACA-Eligible scholarships in green underneath the name of the scholarship. The rest of the
scholarships listed do not require any kind of legal status. At the same time, this also means that some of these scholarships are
still open to U. S. Citizens and residents. Thus, they are open to a greater pool. Some of these scholarships may be only open to
DACA students, and some of them may only be open to Undocumented/DREAMer students.
Apply to Local Scholarships First
Above all other scholarships, Arizona’s Undocumented and DACA-Eligible students should primarily focus on scholarships which are
specific to Arizona students. These scholarships will statistically give these students a higher chance of receiving the scholarship, as
they are applying in a smaller pool of applicants. On the next page are Arizona-Specific scholarships in addition to scholarships
which are for students attending a specific college or university in Arizona. When you are applying to schools, keep in mind which
colleges or universities will give you more aid, in addition to which scholarships are available at each college.
National and International Scholarships
National scholarships will have a higher number of applicants and therefore are more competitive. Unless otherwise marked (with
Arizona/Local Scholarship, or International Scholarship), the scholarships in this scholarship resource guide are National
Scholarships. A few of the scholarships in this guide are International Scholarships, which means that people around the world may
be applying to these scholarships. Although these scholarships are more competitive, they may sometimes have higher awards
than local scholarships, depending on the type of scholarship.
