That we take time, every day, talking to God - praising Him, thanking Him and asking for His guidance. “Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, ‘What are you looking for?’” – John 1:38 What are you looking for? Are you wasting your time looking for the material comforts of the world? Or, is your heart longing for something deeper that can only be found by spending time with

God? Take time, each day, in silence and ask the Lord what it is that He wants you to do.

Lone Rose Sunday will be celebrated at all Masses January 23rd and 24th. The Knights of Columbus Council 6812 would like to present a rose to each mother who brought a child into their family during the past year whether through birth, adoption or foster parenthood. We would like to also present a rose to all

expectant mothers and all grandmothers. Then on Sunday after the 10:00 am Mass there will be a rededication of the Memorial to the Unborn. Everyone is invited to attend. Gather with the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree outside the entrance to the Family Life Center after Mass for this annual ceremony.

SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Dear Parish Family,

Last Sunday evening, we took down our Christmas decorations in the church and put them away - well at least

most of them. Someone made the comment, “it was quicker taking them down than putting them up.” It’s really

true! All the hours it took to put things up and decorate took but a fraction of that time to take down.

And I saw the decorations come down, I could not help but feel a tinge of sadness in my heart. It seemed the

joyful celebration of the season, despite the pandemic, was now a thing of the past and another Christmas season

in our lives had passed.

But it was really a joy to celebrate it with you. In fact, as the trees and poinsettias were removed from the

sanctuary, I began to think of the next Christmas season and celebrating all the special liturgies with you.

So again, I wish to thank the Arts and Environment group for decorating the church and all those who helped put

away those Christmas decorations. Your efforts here speak volumes of the love you have for your parish. Thank

you very much!

I would also like to again thank those of you who contributed during the year to the DSF Annual Appeal and then

rallied at the end to achieve our goal. As the movie actor said, ‘You made my day!’ Of course this year’s drive will

begin soon and I know we will strive again to meet our DSF goal. Doing so means we go beyond ourselves and

embrace the needs of our less fortunate brothers and sisters by furthering the many other ministries in the

archdiocese which strive to bring Christ’s message of love and joy to all. Thank you all so very much!

Peace,

Fr. Dwight

Thank you and God bless each of you who have so generously

responded in support of the 2020 Diocesan Services Fund.
