A House Call and anAnswered Prayer

ASMINE* BELIEVED ABORTION WAS HER ONLY OPTION. She called thenational pregnancy help hotline requesting information about getting an abortion. The crisis counselor learned Jasmine was calling from Junction City

and knew that PSC serves Junction City through the mobile ministry. After receivingthe referral from the national hotline we reached out to Jasmine.

We informed her that we offer pregnancy testing, limited ultrasound, and optionscounseling but do not perform abortions. Since Jasmine didn’t have transportation,we scheduled the mobile’s first house call for thefollowing day! PSC prayer partners providedprayer support, and a pastor joined us on themobile for prayer before our departure. When wearrived in Jasmine’s neighborhood, we called tolet her know we were within walking distanceand she came to the mobile.

Jasmine was amazed thatso many people had prayedfor her and were willing tocome to her side. Beforegoing to sleep the previousnight she had prayed thatGod would give her a sign ofwhat she should do. “I wokeup this morning at peacebecause of how much youcare. Now I know I can’t gothrough with an abortion andthat I am not alone.”

During the ultrasoundJanna, our mobile manager and nurse sonographer, remarked that the baby was looking face down. “Oh!”Jasmine exclaimed. “It looks like my baby is praying and thanking God!”

It is thrilling that a woman who arrives hopeless can depart with joy in her step andthe conviction in her heart that her baby deserves life. May you find joy in knowingthat you are a vessel of the hope that only God can give!
