68's Activity GuideTRANSCRIPT
Dear Parents, Members and Community,
Will believes that success can be measured in numerous
ways and using more than just numbers. There are countless
roads that lead to success in all areas of life. Physical health,
strength and fitness lead to an overall mental power and posi-
tive self-image. At 68’s we want to help you achieve all of the
above.
Family is important to us and we encourage everyone to
get fit and active together. Children can enjoy swim lessons
and free swim time as well as our childcare center, while par-
ents can access personal trainers, enjoy over 50 free group fit-
ness classes, utilize the weight room and cardio center.
Through various programs, whether it be personal train-
ing, group fitness or the personal connections made with our
front desk staff, 68’s can help you meet your personal goals.

Sink or Swim Know what level to be in!
When deciding on a swimming class, we suggest starting
with the last level your child completed. Remember that
swim levels are based on ability, the age range provided is
only a guideline. It may take more than one session of swim
lessons for your child to accomplish all of the skills in a given
class level.
Parent/Tot: (6 months-3 yrs): Child and parent are in the water.
This class is designed to teach parents how to make their children
comfortable in the water.
Is your child at least 3 yrs old and can he/she follow instructions
given by the instructor? If Yes, place child in the Tot class w/o par-
ent.
Tot: (3-5 yrs): Without parent. This class is for those kids that may
be a little afraid of the water and have little to no water experience.
We will work on floating, kicking, reaching for toys and water safety.
Will your child put his/her head under the water willingly? If yes,
place child in Adv Tot
Adv Tot: (4-6 yrs): This class is designed for those children that
have some experience in water. We will work a lot on floating - front
and back. We will work on supported kicking on front and back.
Can your child float unsupported on their front and back for 3-5 sec-
onds? If Yes, place them in Level 1.
Level 1: (5-7 yrs): To be in this class you MUST be able to float.
We will be introducing the front crawl, reaching the arms way out of
the water (getting away from the doggie paddle). We will also work
on kicking with straight legs on their front and back. We will also do
a lot of gliding; front and back.
Can your child float on tummy and back unsupported and know the
front and back glide? Also sort of know the starting stages of the
front crawl? If yes, place in Beg Level 2.
Beg Level 2: (6-8 yrs) Students start to swim freestyle independ-
ently and are exposed to rhythmic breathing. Back crawl stroke is
introduced.
Does your child know the front crawl (w/o rotary breathing), reach-
ing the arms way out of the water and the straight legged kick? If
Yes, place in Adv Level 2.
Adv Level 2: (6-8 yrs) Students will become comfortable with inde-

pendent swimming. They will be swimming 10 yards and perfecting
the kick, front and back crawl arms.
Can your child swim at least 10 yards and do the front crawl with
rotary breathing? If Yes, then place in Level 3.
Beg/Adv Level 2: This is a class with both beginning level 2 and
advanced level 2 students.
Level 3: (7-9 yrs) Students will be swimming 15-25 yards by the
end of this class in either front crawl and/or back crawl. Breathing to
the side is very important. Elementary backstroke is introduced and
heavily practiced also.
Can your child swim the full length of the pool and does he/she know
the front/back crawl and elementary back stroke? If Yes, place in
Beg Level 4.
Beg Level 4: (8-10 yrs) Students will be swimming the entire length
of the pool in both the front and back crawl. The breast and side
stroke are introduced in this class. Students will also learn the
breast and side stroke kick.
Can your child swim 25 yards without stopping? Does he/she know
the breast/side stroke kick? If Yes, place in Adv Level 4.
Adv Level IV: (8-10 yrs) Technique and strength are the goals in
this class. Students will learn the breast and sidestroke arms and
combined with the kicks. Students need to attend this class to be-
come proficient at swimming for distance, breath control and stroke
refinement.
Does your child know front and back crawl, elementary back stroke,
breast and side stroke? Strokes do not need to be perfect. If Yes,
place in Stroke Clinic.
Beg/Adv Level 4: This is a class with both beginning level 4 and
advanced level 4 students.
Stroke Clinic: This is a 45 min class designed for the level 4 or bet-
ter swimmer. Clinics will focus on stroke improvement, technique,
endurance, turns and competitive strokes.
Does your child have good swim technique in all swim strokes? If
Yes, place in DHI class.
DHI: This is a 60 minute high intensity swim team style class. Stu-
dents must have competitive swim team experience. This class is a
work out!

fitness facility, fami-
lies with children have
access to the Childcare
Center. If a child is
included on the family
membership, children
can use the center free
of charge. However, if
they are not included on the membership, the cost is $10 per child per day.
Children are allowed to bring a snack, lunch or dinner. Scheduled eating times are
9:15, 11:15, and 6:00. Those times were chosen because we are fully staffed &
able to dedicate one of our staff to the supervision of these meal times. Socks are
required in the Play Park.
While in the Childcare Center, children are given numerous options for activities
ranging from play-doh, to books to parachute play in the big gym. Kids are encour-
aged to be active, make friends and have a great time.
PERSONAL TRAINING
No fitness program should be a one-size-fits-all. Personal training offers the oppor-
tunity to design and structure a training program based on an individual’s needs,
limitations and goals. Personal trainers can be the difference between a good train-
ing regimen and a great one.
At 68’s, the personal training team is comprised of fitness professionals that re
available for every age, fitness level and medical condition. They are certified by
the nation’s top organizations in the industry including AFAA, ACE, NASM and
NSCA. Our trainers display strengths in areas such as weight loss management,
strength, Kinesiology, core strengthening and balance.
