F I N A L NOTIFICATIONIn exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 and sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the

M i n i m u m Wages Act, 1948 (Central Act 11 of 1948) and of all other powers hereunto enabling and after havingconsul ted wi th th e State M i n i m u m Wages Advisory Board, th e Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby revises th em i n i m u m rates of wages which sha l l consist of basic wage as specified in c o l u m n (3) of the Schedule appended tothis notification as payable to each category employees specified in the corresponding entry in column (2) thereofan d employed i n the employment in "Horticulture" included in Part-II of the Schedule of Minimum Wages Act,1948 in the State of A n d h r a Pradesh as the same having been prev ious ly published i n the Andhra Pradesh GazetteNo. 523, Part-1, Extraordinary, dated 19th Ju ly , 2005 vide G.O.Rt.No. 1474, Labour, Employment, Tra in i ng an dFactories (Lab. I I ) Department, dated 12th July, 2005 as required under clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 5 ofth e said Act.2. T he m i n i m u m rates of wages so fixed sha l l come into force with effect from th e date of publica t ion of thisnotif ication in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette.

shall not be less than th e m i n i m u m wage fixed for a general worker for 8 hours of work.3. To arrive at a dai ly rate, the mo n th l y rate shall be divided by 26, which in clud es the rest day wages.4. W h e r e th e na ture of work is the same, n o discrimination on the paymen t of m i n i m u m rates of wages shouldbe made in respect of m a l e an d fem ale workers.5. Where any category ofemployees actually in receipt of higher rate of wages than those specified above shallcontinue to be paid such higher wages.
