Dear families,

In our first classes of 6th grade we reviewed the contents studied on previous years.

Therefore, you can use the platform ‘lichess’ to practise the movements and

captures, the castling and the queening, which were learned during the first three

years of primary school.

Double attack

Definition: A double attack takes place when one single move causes two

simultaneous threats:

- ¿Which pieces can make a double attack?

All the pieces can make a double attack.

Let’s take a look at some examples:

The knight moves to “e7” (Ce7+) and attacks the king (check) and the queen at

the same time.

The rook moves to “h4” (Th4+) and attacks the king (check) and the knight at the

same time.

The bishop moves to “g4” (Cg4+) and attacks the king (check) and the rook at the

same time.

The queen moves to “h8” and attacks the king (check) and the knight at the same

time.

The king moves to “d3” and attacks the knight and the rook at the same time.

The pawn moves to “e5” and attacks the rook and the knight at the same time.
