Dear Parishioners,
Over the past few months, a group of parishioners have been meeting to discuss plans for a parish fundraiser. When we first met over the summer, we had the intention of planning a parish festival, with stands and food inside and outside on the parish property. However, as the planning intensified, it became clear to start off small and build from this first experience. Therefore, we have begun planning for a Parish Bazaar, which we have named the Saint Mark/Saint Luke End of the Summer Bazaar. Included in this week's bulletin is a flyer which details the scope of the bazaar and the ways in which we can help! Please take a few minutes to consider how you can help. I would like to thank Barbara Danowski who has agreed to organize the Bazaar for this coming year! The practice of the First Saturday devotion was requested by Our Lady of Fatima, who appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, multiple times starting in 1917. She said to Lucia, the oldest of the three children: “I shall come to ask . . . that on the First Saturday of every month, Communions of reparation be made in atonement for the sins of the world.” Therefore, beginning in December, First Saturday Mass will be celebrated here at Saint Mark at 9:00 AM, with confessions before Mass from 8:15-8:45 AM. I would also encourage you to bring your family for Eucharistic Sunday adoration (9:30-4:00) and devotions (beginning at 4PM). This is a beautiful way to draw closer to Our Lord and to know of His love and mercy for each one of us!
In Christ,
Fr. Sahd
