A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE BY BUD OZAR - Jesus says “Do not be afraid” three times in today’s gospel and re-minds us “all concealed secrets will be revealed.” Do not be afraid to acknowledge problems in your fami-ly. If they remain “hidden in dark-ness” they will “destroy body and soul.” Healing, understanding and hope are found only “in the light” of openness. “Do not be afraid.” AND ANOTHER FAMILY PERSPECTIVE BY BUD OZAR: Fathering is an awe-some responsibility and not for the weak or transient. Today we humbly recognize our need for courageous fathers to stand boldly in the face of the powerful cultural forces in our culture which threaten our children. Today we ask fathers to be the coura-geous leaders we need.
Our Father in Heaven Bless all fathers today, Those who are young
And those with hair of gray.
As Head of the House Give them a firm hand On questions of right To make a firm stand.
Help them remember
In all that they do, That they were made
IN THE IMAGE OF YOU!

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM WEEK 2020 FOR THE GOOD OF ALL
Beginning June 22, the Feast of Sts Thomas More and John Fisher, the United State Conference of Catholic Bishops celebrates Religious Freedom Week. Join us in promoting religious freedom For the Good of All. All people desire to know their Crea-tor. All people have a natural im-pulse to seek the good and to live in accordance with that good. All peo-ple can flourish when they pursue the truth about God and respond to the truth. Religious freedom means that all people have the space to flourish Religious freedom is both and Ameri-can value and an important part of Catholic teaching on human dignity. When we promote religious freedom we promote the common good and thus strengthen the life of our nation and the community of nations. Learn more at www.usccb.org/ReligiousFreedomWeek!
RACIAL HEALING
God of Heaven and Earth, You created the one human family
And endowed each person with great dignity.
Aid us, we pray, in overcoming
the sin of racism. Grant us your grace in eliminating
this blight from our hearts, our communities, our social and civil
institutions.
Fill our hearts with love for you and our neighbor
so that we may work with you in healing our land
from racial injustice. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns
with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever.

Novena Prayer to St. Rocco
O Great St. Rocco, deliver us, we beseech thee,
from the scourges of God;
through thy intercession,
preserve our bodies from contagious diseases,
and our souls from the contagion of sin.
Obtain for us salubrious air;
but, above all, purity of heart.
Assist us to make good use of health,
to bear suffering with patience;
and, after thy example,
to live in the practice of penance and char-
ity, that we may one day enjoy the happiness
which thou has merited by thy virtues.
St. Rocco, pray for us (say three times)

This includes use of the Church for Baptisms, Weddings, and other sacramental events and includes parishioner status in our parochial school. Active membership is determined by three things: being regis-tered in the parish for a sufficient period of time, faithful attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days, and the use of the envelope system in support of the parish. Baptismal Instruc-tions and marriage instructions are by appointment (517-369-2120). Marriage Instructions and Marriage Discovery Weekend are requirements for anyone to be married at St. Mary’s Assump-tion Church. Call the rectory to make arrangements at least six months in advance. We the Parishioners of St. Mary’s Assumption Parish, Bronson, acknowledge the mission of Christ on earth and know that our aim is to have God working through us. As a Christian communi-ty, we respond to the call of Jesus Christ to love each other as Jesus loves us and to celebrate the Eucharist, so as to be strength-ened to accept the responsibility to serve rather than be served. Together we are committed to the spiritual, physical and educa-tional welfare of those of our parish family and beyond.
