# 2 Use a Clipboard

Great Monitoring Tool

$he %lipboard method consists of having

a clipboard with a list of your students. As

you make eye contact with misbehaving

kids, put a mark on their names. $hey will

know that their misbehavior has been

noticed and conse&uences are likely to

follow.

You can also use this method to go

around during seatwork and take notice

of misbehaving students. You can stand

near them and make sure they see that

you are using your clipboard.

Get them started

$his strategy involves them to be working already on a

short task '(# minutes) even before you enter the

classroom. *t could be as simple as answering a

review &uestion, or reading something.

You will have to set a routine for this early so that itbecomes an automatic behavior for the students.

well with the clipboard method.
