We Coach The Pros7 Steps To Scale A
Successful Business
Think Big; Act BoldNo — this doesn’t mean delusional daydreaming. Yes have a vison board BUT , DON’T just sit there and ‘think’ about it.
You have to take bold action. Surround yourself with the right team, mentors and connections; build strategies to reach your ‘big thoughts’, then pull the trigger.
Step 1Network-Network-Network
Find And Establish Key Relationships And NetworksYour Wisdom + My Wisdom = More Success
Step 2
Always Evaluate Financing Options For ExpansionWhether you want to expand your employee base, buy a new facility or develop a new product, one of the key elements in taking a company to the next level is knowing the kind of capital you need to support that growth.
Have you considered building your business credit? It is never to early!
Step 3
Hiring People
(and the right people, at that).
I know that even mentioning the word “employees” can leave a bad taste for some
business owners, because all they see is the annual salary being shoveled out of
their accounts or the petty squabbles in the break room.
Dealing with difficulty is why you make the big bucks. If you feel that no one can do
it as good as you, or you always seem to end up with a bad team, I have some hard,
no BS truth for you: It’s not the employees. It’s your leadership skills. Learn to hire
the support you need so you can actively work toward achieving your business
goals.
Step 4 Utilizing Systems And Processes To Be
SuccessfulThe two main reasons entrepreneurs have a difficult time managing people is a lack of leadership skills (as we discussed above) and a lack of systems. Once you have a solid team in place, you have to make sure they have the tools they need to get the job done.It is nearly impossible for someone to be a good employee when all the info on how they should do their job is locked in your head, so you must have a system in place to communicate your ideas, needs, and goals.
Step
5
Investing In Customer Retention.
If your plan is growth, it must include an investment
in retention. If you don’t focus on this area of your
business, you will most definitely be leaving money
on the table.
Step 6Be Visible
Do you have a brand?
Social network?
How many contacts a day
do you make?
Are you consistent?
Step 7Work On
Your
Business,
Not In It
You are in charge of
the big picture. When
you see areas that
need improvement,
delegate the work out,
so you can continue to
be the troubleshooter
and visionary that you
need to be. It may take
some practice if you're
used to getting really
hands on in your
business, but your
employees will
appreciate the trust
and responsibility you
give them, and you will
quickly learn that you
can do the job of
leading your business
that no one else can
do!
PREPARE FOR
CHANGE
Scaling means change. That should be
obvious, but it’s a truth that can be hard
to put into practice during the growth
process.
