DESCRIPTION

After seven decades of living, it’s apparent to me that there are lots of myths floating around about aging. Indeed, aging is an inescapable body thing, but it need not affect your passion for life. When you bring alertness to your day, with the intent of savoring your experiences like a child, you will find that you are still a mischievous rascal. There’s still plenty of life to enjoy. I have a friend who's 95. He loves to tell me that he meets Father Time, head-on every morning, and says the same thing, “I deny that I am yours to do as you want to. It’s still my life and I plan to live it my way.” When you make it a point to live out your elder years consciously, you quickly feel that enthusiastic child inside of you. That child is still very much alive; the only difference is that with maturity comes wisdom, so you lose the childhood innocence, but not your love for life. Here are seven ways to remind you that no matter what your age, you can look at the world with the same eyes through which you looked as a curious and passionate child. Now that’s wise. Keep Love in your heart, always

70/20 tip # 1: There is no wiser way to live long beyond your 70’s, with the passion of a twenty year old, than to stick with love in your heart - no matter who you are with or what you are doing. Love is passion caught on fire. Where there is love there is vibrant life. Photo: lanierstar.com

Take time to imagine new things to do that would light you up; now get out there and take action.

70/20 tip # 2: It’s great to try something new. Nothing bad will happen to you. Do it now! Don’t confine yourself to small places. The world is large – expand your domain. Attend an adult education cooking class, join a bowling team or take that art course at the local library.

Go Silent. Go Deep. Accept that you are unique.

70/20 tip # 3: Count the cost for expressing your uniqueness – there is none. Count the blessings - oh, so many! Demonstrate your unique style - don that garden hat, no matter how flamboyant it may seem. Do you like it? Wear it. Live here and now; that’s all there ever is.

Keep the body active, but slow down the pace.

70/20 tip # 4:An active body is your rescue from creaking bones. Put the body out of service and it cannot serve you properly. Physical action is vital to your health and wellbeing. What activity might become your newest passion? Put on those walking shoes, and get up and go.

Get a thrill out of giving, and give daily.

70/20 tip # 5: Give spontaneously. Give boldly. Give generously. Give wholeheartedly, and you will feel like a million bucks every time you give. Give a warm smile. Give a kind remark. Give a friend a stick of gum or a sucking candy. How you give is far more important than what you give.

Your life is meaningful or you’d not be here – appreciate that.

70/20 tip # 6:Live in the world, knowing that you are a valuable contribution to humanity. Respect the life-lessons and insights that you have gained over the years, and share them. You can experience an ordinary life in extraordinary ways, which is precisely what gives passion its energy.

Take part in your own deliverance.

70/20 tip # 7: One thing I’ve learned over the past seven decades is that passion and wisdom are graceful gifts bestowed on anyone who’s willing to be his natural, loving self, approachable and spontaneous. Passion and wisdom are a hot combination. This is the spice that keeps the relationship hot with my wife. Pictured: Rob and his wife, Kat. Visit RobWhiteMedia.com and download the free Daily WOW!
