The organizers of the Tri-County Free Fair, Inc. invite you to attend Herington’s biggest summer event. We hope the 71st annual fair will be enjoyable and rewarding for all those attending and participating. The fair was founded on the high ideals and standards of the 4-H club program. All participants in the fair are reminded of these high standards and should conduct themselves appropriately. Participation in the fair is a privilege. This privilege can be denied to those who abuse it. All those participating in and attending the fair should remember the importance of cooperation. Cooperation between competitors, supervisors and other entrants is vital to the fairs’ success. Parents of 4-H and FFA members are responsible for the supervision and conduct of their children. All youth 18 years and under are subject to the Herington curfew of midnight on weekdays and 12:30 a.m. on weekends. The fairgrounds are regularly patrolled by Security Guards as well as the Herington Police Department. Residents of Dickinson, Marion and Morris Counties have the opportunity to exhibit at the fair in the open class division. You are encouraged to take part, just for the fun of it.
Absolutely no alcoholic or cereal malt beverages may be consumed or carried on the fairgrounds. Rules have been established by the City of Herington and will be enforced by local law enforcement personnel. Limited security is provided for most exhibits by building sitters. The fairgrounds are regularly patrolled by representatives of the fair. However, fair management assumes no responsibility for accidents, illness, or damage or loss occurring during the fair. Items or animals are entered at the fair at the exhibitor’s own risk. The Tri-County Free Fair is presented in cooperation with the county extension services of Dickinson, Marion and Morris Counties. Thank you to the county extension agents for all their assistance.
