7.4 Consistent and Inconsistent Systems pg. 338 to 344
So far you have learned how to solve systems of equations by:
1. Graphing2. Substitution3. Elimination
YOU ARE STILL DOING THIS FIRST!
NOW--you get to pick the method you want to solve withAND--you have to classify the system by a name:
Inconsistent---(NO answer-cancels itself out, lines are parallel)
Consistent and independant---(ONE answer) (This is what you have been doing)
Consistent and dependant ( SAME exact equations/lines)
1. Consistent dependant (same line, infinite answers)2. Inconsistent (parallel lines--no intersection)3. Consistent independant ( 0, -2)4. Consistent independant (1,1)
