4.4. Mechanical Properties

4.4.1. Hardness of heat affected zone within 0.25 inch of weld shall be 28 HRC minimum wevaluated in accordance with ASTM E18.

4.4.2. Shear strength of weld shall be determined as indicated in Appendix A, FigureForce to shear weld shall be as specified on the engineering drawing.

4.5. Structure

Weld gap measured in the longitudinal direction shall be 0.012 inches (0.30 millimemaximum.

4.6. Additional Requirements
