Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO Local 7750
Voting is one thing every American 18 or older has the right to do. We can vote people in or out of office. We vote for or against adding, removing or changing laws and constitutions. This year we’ll be asked to cast our vote in the mid-terms elections for State and Na-tional representatives. The ballots in Colorado will have amend-ments and proposals. Everyone needs to educate themselves on the pros and cons of each. While the Union does make recommenda-tions, we all know what is important to us and our families, so we need to do our homework and learn about the candidates and the other issues before casting our vote.
The Local has sent out ballots to the members asking them to vote on the merger of Local 7717 with our Local and the changing of the By-Laws. Being educated on these requests will help everyone de-cide how they want to vote.
Voting is a right and privilege we have that many countries don’t have. I hope everyone takes the time to get the information needed to cast their vote for both the Local, State and National elections. Another right we have as Americans is to run for office, participate in the election process or help get someone elected. These rights should not be taken for granted but should be exercised.
Remember the troops who fought and died for this right. In Solidarity

It’s that time of year again, voting time. You have been receiving Literature from Lo‐cal 7750 on both the candidates and the issues. While the people and issues in the fly‐ers are the preferred choice of the Union, they may not necessarily be yours, and that is perfectly fine. The important thing is to vote for who you think is best for you. The people and things endorsed by the Union are who and what is most beneficial for our families. Thanks for your understanding, and again, please exercise your most de‐mocratic right and
GET OUT AND VOTE.
I would also like to remind our members that Wednesdays is call banking at the AFL/CIO and on Saturdays there are walks starting at the AFL/CIO. We would like to see as many as possible there.
Thank you,
Local 7750 EVP

Dear CWA Local 7750 Members, Working families in Colorado are struggling mightily right now with this challenging economy. When our members or their families are struggling it is easy to get discouraged, but now is not the time to lose ground for working families in Colorado. Working families have a clear choice to make in 2010. We can sit on the sidelines and allow the same politicians that let Wall Street run amok and ruin our economy back in power or we can support candidates and issues that will continue to move our agenda forward in Colorado and in Washington, D.C. Our local union has researched the candidates and ballot measures and would ask you to consider the following points as you decide how to fill out your ballot. Support Michael Bennet for U.S. Senate - Michael Bennet voted for financial reform to protect Colorado working families from having to rescue the big banks that took sloppy and excessive risks that nearly wrecked our economy. Michael Bennett opposes raising the retirement age and says we need to protect Social Security from those who want privatize it. He wants to be sure Social Security is there for current retirees and for future generations. Vote “NO” on Amendments 60, 61, 63 and Proposition 101 - These anti-worker ballot measures are risky experiments that will kill our members’ jobs, threaten our fragile economy, hurt our children’s schools and increase healthcare costs for all of us. We need to vote “NO!” As an affiliate union of the Colorado AFL-CIO, the State Labor Federation, we have also included a copy of the 2010 Colorado AFL-CIO Voter guide. We would ask that you strongly consider the AFL-CIO endorsed candidates for U.S. House, State Senate and State House as you make your voting decisions. How you vote is your decision. We have interviewed the candidates and researched the ballot measures and have made these recommendations to you and your family to help you make an informed decision. Please call your local union at (303) 477-4444 or the Colorado AFL-CIO at (303) 433-2100 if you need more information about candidates, ballot measures or information on voting procedures. Please remember to vote by November 2nd. In Solidarity, Your Local E-Board
