Eco-DAS XIII Ecological Dissertations in the Aquatic Sciences Eco-DAS is a symposium for recent and soon-to-be PhDs in ecological aquatic sciences, encompassing both Limnology and Oceanography. The main goals of this symposium are to: ! Foster sustained, cross-disciplinary interactions among top new researchers. ! Familiarize participants with research opportunities and introduce them to funding agency representatives. ! Form mentorship relationships between participants and established scientists. ! Produce highly visible publications that highlight both the research of the participants and the interdisciplinary collaborations formed during the symposium. The 2018 symposium will be held at the East-West Center, University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, 15-20 October 2018. Funding provided by NSF. Eco-DAS is sponsored by the Center for Microbial Oceanography: Research and Education, the University of Hawai‘i School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, and the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography. Eligibility: PhD received or expected between 1 June 2017 and 1 June 2019. Application: current resume, letter of support from current graduate or postdoctoral advisor, personal statement, and an outline for a proposed collaborative manuscript. Eco-DAS is a symposium for recent and soon-to-be PhDs in ecological aquatic sciences, encompassing both Limnology and Oceanography.
