Parker saw several first place finishes, led by freshman Shayla Voeltz who toppled the school record in the long jump, helping Parker to a sec- ond place team finish, just behind Sioux Falls Christian. In the track events, Lexi Even continued her strong start to the season, placing second in both the 100 and 200m dashes, just behind Ella Heintz in both. Heintz was 12.0 in the 100 while Even was 12.60 while in the 200 Heintz edged Even 25.50 to 26.30. Braelyn Berens and Shea Lang were fifth and seventh respectively in the 100 while Voeltz and Janae Olson were third and fourth in the 200, just behind Even. Even won the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.9 well ahead of second while Brae- lyn Berens was eighth. Tayler Coleman turned in a fourth place performance in the 800m run while Josie Leberman was fourth in the 1600 and sixth in the 3200. In the hurdles, Shelby Lang was fourth in the 100 while Katie Simmermon was sixth. Parker won the 4x100 with a time of 53.10 led by Jenna VanVelzen, Voeltz, Berens and Even nearly four seconds ahead of Sioux Falls Christian. The Pheasants also won the 4x200 with Olson, Anna Rei- ffenberger, Cierra Mohr and Voeltz in command with a time of 1:53.20, just ahead of SFC. Parker also took the top spot in the 4x400, with a time of 4:29.50 just edging SFC as Reiffenberger, VanVelzen, Coleman and Olson com- bined for first. Parker was also fourth in the 1600 sprint medley, as Grace Dewald, Aubrey Kil- bourn, VanVelzen and Macy Kippes led the Pheasants. Parker cleaned up in the long jump, with Voletz jump- ing 16-08, ahead of second place Olson who jumped 15- 10. Mohr was also fourth with a jump of 14-11. Mohr came back and won the triple jump at 31-01.50, ahead of second 29-09. Kilbourn was sixth in the shot put at 20-05.75 while Parker Lessman was second in the discus at 95-07. Kil- bourn finished sixth in the discus at 83-09. Parker finished in second place, with 145.5 points, while Sioux Falls Christian won the meet with 167 points. “On the girls side we had a very successful day, espe- cially in the relays led by Lexi Even. We also had a school re- cord fall from Shayla Voeltz in the long jump with a success- ful attempt of 16’8”. Olson and Mohr are also knocking on the door to break that re- cord so there is some healthy intersquad competition go- ing on in the long jump this year,” commented coach Cul- len Mack. On the boys side Zanto Centeno was eighth in the 100 while Cole Jurgens was fourth in the 200. Jurgens also finished in second in the 400m dash with a time of 54.90.
