The company has set up a cell towers on wheels (COW) to accommodate what’s expected to be a large number of smartphone users in the Sheboygan area. The improved coverage will provide customers with faster and more reliable connections as the event runs through the weekend. “This golf tournament is full of memorable moments that our customers want to share through text messages, pictures, status updates on social media and phone calls,” said Scott T. VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin. “We’re hard at work to help provide great coverage and fast speeds.” “We are very fortunate to have one of the world’s greatest golf championships at Whistling Straits this year,” said State Representative Terry Katsma. “This extra network support will help make sure golf enthusiasts can share their experiences and memories with friends and family throughout championship week.” AT&T* has invested nearly $900 million in its best-in-class wireless and wired networks in Wisconsin between 2012 and 2014, driving a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and performance for residents and business customers.
