The no frost (frost free) system enablesboth the freezing of fresh foodstuff as wellas storage of readily frozen foodstuff bycold air. An evaporator cools the air in theinterior space of the appliances, which is circulated and uniformly distributed by afan. This uniformly circulating air flow cre-ates a dry climate, low temperaturefluctuations and low temperaturedifferences in the entire appliance interior. The moisture in the air condenses as froston the evaporator. The evaporatorthaws/defrosts automatically, as soon asthis is necessary. The melted water isdrained off outside to the compressor andevaporates throught the heat generated bythe latter. Thus, the interior of theappliances and the stored cooled or frozenfoodstuffs always remain fresh and ice-free. Manual thawing/defrosting is notnecessary.

Freezing

Recommendation: for freezing fresh food, use the special basket. This enables thefresh food to be separated from those alreadyfrozen. Always take care of preventing thefood already frozen from being thawed as aresult of contact with fresh food. If freezing

compartment is insufficient, part of goodscan be placed in the large compartment ofthe cabinet on the left side of basket.

Attention!Prior to freezing foods, the inner tempera-ture of freezer should be -18

OC or below.

Observe the freezing capacity indicatedon the data label. The freezing capacity isthe maximum quantity of fresh productsthat can be frozen with in 24 hours.Any food once thawed must not be re-frozen without further processing (e.g.cooking)In order to utilize the maximum freez ingcapacity, depress the button (quickfreezing) for 1 second 24 hours inadvance of the time the freezing isplanned to begin or 4 to 6 hours inadvance if only a small quantity of goods is to be frozen. The yellow lamp is lit

It is not necessary to use button (quickfreezing) for quantities not exceeding 1.5 kg.

Wrap the foods so they are airtight prior tofreezing in order to prevent them frombecoming dry, loosing their flavour orinteracting with the flavour of other frozen foods.

Caution! Do not touch the frozen productswith wet hands; otherwise your hands maystick to the frozen product as a result offreezing.

Page 12: 820 41 77 06dl.owneriq.net/7/737b7f0d-80f8-d2b4-953a-be2339fcb8fa.pdf · with EN 153 regarding the determination of freezer capacity, energy consumption and temperature rise time

Place the wrapped foods into the freezer. The products not frozen should not to be in contact with those already frozen inorder to prevent the latter from hawed. In order to freeze additional products, pre-serve the quick freezing setting.Alternatively, stop the quick freezingmode about 24 hours following theloading of goods (earlier in case of smallquatities). To do this, depress the button(quick freezing) again. The yellowsignal lamp extinguishes. If the (quick freezing) button is notdepressed to stop the quick freezingfunction, the equipment switchedautomatically to the normal mode after a 48-hour operation (the yellow signal lamp extinguishes). Then theequipment continues to operate in the mode determined by the setting oftemperature control knob.

Advice:For wrapping the goods to be frozen, usefreezer bags, cling wrap specified for use in a freezer and good quality foil.

- special boxes suitable for frozen food- Extra strength aluminium foil

For closing the bags and foils, useplastic clips, rubber bands or adhesive tapes.Prior to closing, remove the air fromthe bags and foils; otherwise , the aircauses the to dry out food and, in addi-tion, occupies space.Make small flat packages in order toaccelerate the freezing.

Do not fill the special boxes to the brimwith ice cream or liquid due to theexpantion occurring during freezing.

Conservation of frozen products

Attention! Prior to loading the freezer thefirst time with food already frozen, thetemperature of -18 °C necessary forsafe storage should be obtained.

Store only frozen foods that arewrapped in order to prevent thembecoming dry, loosing their flavour orinteracting with the flavour of otherfrozen foods.Observe the period storage recom-mended on pre-packed frozen food.Store ice creams and high fat content foods in the lower part of freezer (near the bottom)

Important! The freezing capacity stat-ed can be utilised to the full occasion-ally to freeze large amounts of freshfood. However, if the freezer is filledwith large amounts of food for freez-ing every day, the capacity stated isreduced by about one-third.

Basket

The basket is designed for fast freezingand protection for part of the lid (Air inlet). The handles can be placed in one posi-tion as shown in the drawings.

Important: Do not leave a spacebetween the right side of the basket andCold module.

The baskets are designed for the storageof food which has already been frozen. The handles can be placed in two posi-tions, as shown in the drawings. The baskets can either be placed insidethe freezer or hung on the edge of thecasing.

The role of the pressure equalisation valveThe pressure equalisation valve installed inyour freezer automatically eliminates thepressure difference which otherwise wouldmake it very difficult or even impossible toopen the lid.

It may be possible to hear the operation ofthe valve as the air flows in through the air-ing outlet in the rear wall of the cabinet.

For a safe operation, keep the two openingsof the valve clear, do not cover them!

Do not keep distancebetween basket andcold modul

Page 15: 820 41 77 06dl.owneriq.net/7/737b7f0d-80f8-d2b4-953a-be2339fcb8fa.pdf · with EN 153 regarding the determination of freezer capacity, energy consumption and temperature rise time

Normal Operating Sounds

You may hear faint gurgling or bubblingsounds when the refrigerant is pumpedthrough the coils or tubing at the rear, to the cooling plate/evaporator.When the compressor is on, therefrigerant is being pumped round and you will hear a whirring sound orpulsating noise from the compressor.A thermostat controls the compressor and you will hear a faint click when the thermostat cuts in and out.

Storage

Frozen food can be stored anywhereinside the freezer, but should be keptbelow the load line. Never exceed themaximum storage time for purchasedfrozen food. When you buy a frozen food, make sure that it has been stored at thecorrect temperature. Do not buyproducts which have wet or damagedpackaging. Place purchased products inyour freezer as quickly as possible. Werecommend using an insulated bag tobring such products home with you.Never place bottles, warm objects, orfizzy drinks in the freezer.

IMPORTANT! Do not push foodtogether too much, try to allow air tocirculate around each them.

Freezing

Only use fresh food of the best quality.Cool hot dishes to room temperature asquickly as possible before placing themin the freezer. Wrap food carefully infreezer foil, or use the special freezerboxes or bags which are on the market.Divide food into small portions beforefreezing- this ensure that the freezing ismore rapid, and means that you onlyneed to defrost the amount needed forimmediate consumption.

Remember that defrosted food must not bere-frozen. However, cooked dishes whichhave been made using defrosted food maybe frozen. Mark the freezer packaging withthe date of freezing. We recommend keepinga record of the contents of your freezer. Iffreezing is too slow, the quality of the foodbeing frozen deteriorates. Consequently, donot freeze larger amounts than is stated onthe freezer's data plate. If you wish to freezeseveral days in a row the maximum freezingcapacity stated per day is reduced by aboutone-third. As far as possible, keep the lidclosed during freezing. If you inexperiencedwith home freezing, we recommend thatyou purchase a book containing advice andguidlines.
