The Kut Kwick RoadMaster® (RM) Series is designed forroadsides, airports and other large areas. The front mowingtractor unit cuts a 7 foot swath and operates safely onslopes to 31º. The optional hydraulically powered towed cutter deck attachment cuts a 15’7” swath. The uniquedesign of the RM allows trimming to within 2-1/2 inches of either side of the front deck by raising one or both wingdecks. With both wing decks raised you have an over-the-road speed of 24 MPH.

STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:Tractor: Industrial mowing tractor, slope cutting to31º, with tractor only (20º with towed cutter attached),riding 88” cut, (187” cut with towed cutter option),rear-discharge, out-front rotary, self propelled by aclosed loop hydrostatic drive system, powering 38” x18”-20” drive wheels, steering wheel with hydraulicassist, 80 HP diesel engine. OTHER STANDARD DESIGN FEATURES:Operator Safety Switch — Must be attached to theoperator so that when pulled it functions as an emer-gency brake and safety shutdown. It cuts off anddynamically brakes the machine should the operatorseparate himself from the machine for any reason.

Propulsion — Hand lever activated, closed loophydraulic system including direct drive hydraulicpump with dual speed wheel motors coupled to plane-tary hubs, powering the forward or reverse rotation ofthe wheels. The system is supplied with hydraulic oilfrom a 58 gallon reservoir through a 10 micron filtersystem with a total system capacity of 62 gallons.

Steering — A steering wheel directs the two 6”x16”,6 ply wheels mounted on the front of the cutter deck.Has hydraulic power assist. Additional steering assistbrakes are actuated by foot pedals located right andleft on the floor forward of the operator. The steeringassist brakes may be individually activated to hold themachine on slopes for periods of short duration or forquick turns. For emergency braking, the pedals can beapplied together.

Operational Braking — When the propulsion lever isreturned toward the neutral position, the machine ishydraulically braked. When in neutral, the machine’smovement is braked whether or not the engine is running.

Parking Brake — The two steering assist pedals maybe latched together then applied simultaneously byfoot as a parking brake. The steering assist pedalsactuate automotive disc type brakes that are located onthe two drive wheel assemblies.

Freewheeling Device — Disengages the planetarygearboxes by reversing the caps located on the outsideface of each gearbox. When towing, use only a rigidtowbar.

Wheels — Drive: 38”x18”-20”, 8 ply rating tractortread for best traction in rough or wet conditions.Steering: 6”x16”, 6 ply rating.

Towed cutter, 6”x16”, 6 ply ratingWing deck, anti-scalp (front): 12”x4”-6”, puncture proof.Wing deck, anti-scalp (rear): 12”x4”-6”, puncture proof.

Front Cutter Deck Assembly — Extra heavy duty,1/4” thick plate steel, rear-discharge type deckequipped with three, 3/8” x 4” x 31” hardened alloysteel blades. The blades are mounted on 1” diameter,steel mandrel shafts, each supported by two precisionball bearings enclosed in a heavy, machined housing.

Tilting Seat — The patented tilting mechanism allowsthe operator to tilt up to 30º on slopes. It is necessaryfor the operator to maintain his seating while travers-ing and turning on steep slopes. The arm rests not onlyrest the operator but restrain and hold the operator inthe seat during steep slope operation. The arm rests areindividually pressed down to tilt the seat.

Engine — 80 HP Cummins Industrial, cast iron, over-head cam, water-cooled diesel engine.

Air Filter — A special multi-stage engine air filter.Dust and dirt are removed centrifugally and depositedin a dust cup. A replaceable element removes finerparticles. The filter reduces maintenance, assuringlonger engine life.

Controls — For safety and convenience - all the con-trols are ergonomically located. The steering wheel,propulsion lever, throttle, engine gauges and ignitionswitch are located on the dash panel immediately infront of the operator with the blade engagement con-trols on the right panel. The high/low drive speed con-trol is located on the left panel, and parking/steeringbrake pedals on the floor of the cab.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS-PATENTS:The RM is specially designed for safety and perfor-mance in medium to rough mowing applications in flatareas as well as slopes not to exceed 31º. Engineeredfeatures necessary for practical and safe operation onslopes include extra wide wheel base, a low center ofgravity, tip-up protection, special cockpit and tiltingsuspension seat with restraining arms and retractableseat belt. The front cutting, rear-discharge cutterassembly rigidly supports the chassis from the frontwhile pivoting to the side to contour with the turf. Therear-discharge cutter significantly reduces the hazardof thrown objects. The 58 gallon hydraulic reservoir isthe central structural member of the machine, con-tributing to its low center of gravity, eliminates oilfoaming and overheating. The engine is mounted inthe center of the machine and is exposed to assuregood cooling and ease of maintenance. The operatorposition is located at the rear extremity of the machinepermitting the operator to continuously look forwardin normal operation, and to assure his safety should heseparate himself from the machine for any reason.Both the cutter assemblies and the propulsion systemare designed so that the engine can only be startedwhen the cutters are disengaged and the propulsionsystem is in neutral.
