Dear Parents and Guardians,

Gala newsletterWe are currently working on the final preparations for our Global Gala happening this Saturday and this newsletter edition will focus on this event.

Our normal newsletter will resume next week and we will make mention of Alf our crossings supervisor’s last day, the ANZAC day ceremony, a report of the Chess tournament being hosted here on Tuesday and feedback from our Gala.

Our Global Gala has been in the planning over the past couple of the years and we are excited that it is almost here. Right from the start the concept of the Gala has been to promote and celebrate our community and the way our school has grown, not only in population, but in diversity. We are fortunate to have had so many wonderful staff members, parents and students who have enriched our lives and learning over the past 21 years. We hope that our present and former students and their families will spend some time to connect, re-connect and re-live happy memories of Seabrook Primary School.

We have invited organisations and some local business and market/food stall holders to join us on the day and hope that everyone has a chance to access what is on offer.

A letter to our parents regarding the 21st International Gala

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The 21st Birthday event is taking place this weekend and we would like to inform you of where to drop off and pick up your child for the concert component of the day. We will be doing things a little differently to the Christmas concert due to the other events that will be taking place in the school grounds on the day. We are asking for all children to be dropped off and picked up at the evacuation point on the back oval. (We have included a map for your benefit.) Each room number is painted on the back fence and your classroom teacher will be there to meet their grades. The teacher will then take the grade to sit in the marshaling area in front of the stage to be ready to start and until each section of the concert has concluded.

Prep and Ones We are asking the Preps and Grade ones to be at the Evacuation point at 10.45 am for all students to be seated for an 11 am start. The prep/ones section of the concert will conclude at approximately 11.30am. At this time the whole grade will be taken back to evacuation point for collection. We are asking that students be picked up by One adult to help with congestion on the day and to be respectful to the other performances taking place. After that point students will be free to take part in running and participate in the stalls and activities of the day.

Twos and ThreesWe are asking the Grade Two/Threes to be at the Evacuation point at 11.45 am for all students to be seated for an 12 o’clock start. The two/three section of the concert will conclude at approximately 12.30pm. At this time the whole grade will be taken back to evacuation point for collection. We are asking that students be picked up by One adult to help with congestion on the day and to be respectful to the other performances taking place. After that point students will be free to take part in running and participate in the stalls and activities of the day.

Fours, Fives and SixesWe are asking the Fours, Fives and Sixes to be at the Evacuation point at 12.45 pm for all students to be seated for an 1 o’clock start. The Fours, Fives and Sixes section of the concert will conclude at approximately 1.40 pm. At this time the whole grade will be taken back to evacuation point for collection. We are asking that students be picked up by One adult to help with congestion on the day and to be respectful to the other performances taking place. After that point students will be free to take part in running and participate in the stalls and activities of the day.

We hope that everybody enjoys the day, so please come along, set yourselves up on the oval and enjoy the performances, food vans, markets, stalls and activities on a beautiful day.

If you can volunteer any of your time on the day, please come and see Maureen or Jenny in the office.

Thank you, on behalf of the 21st Committee, Staff, Parents and Students.
