1 Introduction
Tourism has been considered as one of the largest sectors in the world. The number of
international tourists had an increase of 4% in 2012 and surpassed the first-time record of 1
billion tourists in the world (Ma and Hassink, 2013). There is a movement in tourism pattern
from a privilege activity (which is accessible to only few visitors) to a mass tourism. Through
this expansion, different types of services are created. However, according to Novelli (2012),
niche tourism has a key role in recent time and the emergence of various niche markets
nowadays contributes to provide something special and unique. Therefore, this report aims at
offering a discussion about niche tourism and the facts which might have impacts on niche
tourism.
