    Introduction:

This is very special magical goblet with a lid and a disappearing ball. Take the ball and place it in yourpocket. Close the lid and ask the audience where is the ball?of course the audience will say, the ball is in your pocket. Lift the lid and the ball is in the goblet. Closethe lid again and ask: wheres the ball now? In my pocket or in the goblet? Of course its in the

goblet because we saw it there. Lift the lid and the ball has disappeared. It is in your pocket. You canrepeat the trick over and over again. The ball will always be where you want it to be and not where theaudience wants it to be.How its done:

The goblet has a double bottom. The toppart has half a ball. To the audience it lookslike a complete ball.Lift the lid together with the top of thegoblet that has the half ball and remove thefull ball. Put it in your pocket .Return thelid(with the top part) then lift the lid only , and show the audience that the ball is still there. Of course itis only the half ball. You can let someone from the audience check the goblet but you must first hidethe half ball.

Show the audience a cube that has a different coloured spot sticker on each side. Then announce the 6different colours: Select someone from the audience who will choose a colour, (without revealing it).Ask the participant to wait until you live room, to show the colour to the audience, and place the cubeinside of the box, with the chosen colour facing up. The box should then be covered with the lid. You

With the shell facing the audience, with the help of your middle finger, during a movement of the handlet the ball drop from the shell, and bring it between the next two fingers (see drawing 2).The audience now sees two balls. Then, while covering you hand, return the ball to the shell, and showthe audience that you have only one ball. For the advanced magician: Without the audience knowing, you can add a third ball, and show theaudience 3 balls. See drawing 3.When the audience sees two balls (one is the shell)pickup another ball in your left hand Quickly passyour left hand in back or your right hand and slip theball into the shell. Make believe that you are puttingthe ball into your left pocket. At the same time withyour right hand bring the ball from the shell to restbetween your middle and finger.

Show the audience 3 balls between your fingers.

Show a participant card that has a number of cards printed on it. Among the printed card is a queen.Give the participant a paper clip and say: Catch the Queen by placing the paper clip where the queenwas last seen while the card lies face down. Of course the participant will not succeed, and on every trythe participant will catch another card. Try it and you will see.

    How its done:

The card is regular playing except that the printed numbers at the backof the card are printed backwards, so that the minute you show theparticipant the queen and the card is turned over, the sequence of theprinted cards changes, and the participant catches the wrong cards.

    5. Five different figures (Telepathy)

Indroduction:There are 10 cards, 5 are red and 5 are black. The black and the red cards are identical, the onlydifference is the colour.Place two groups of colours on the table, black and red. Ask someone from the audience to choose oneof the groups. Take the cards, turn them over, with their backs to the audience, and mix them. Whilethe 5 cards are in the participants hand and the other 5 cards are in your hands, ask the participant toplace one card on the table.

You also place one card on top of the participant card, with cards backs facing up. Repeat this 5 times: cardnext to card, and you place your card on top ofparticipants card. When the cards are turned over, all the pairs will beexact twins. How its done:

    How its done:

Take 4 cards, 3 of them have differentnumbers printed on each end. In otherwords, one end has an ace, while theother end has a 3. there is also anothercard that has ace printed on both ends.Hold the cards so that the audience sees one ace, and three 3s, then turn the pack around without theaudience realizing it, and then show that the cards have turned into 4 aces.

    7. Enchanted Ropes

    Introduction:

Show the audience three ropes that are all the same length. Gather the ropes up into your palm. Openup your palm and suddenly the ropes are all different length. One is long, one is medium length, andone is short. Of course this is done by using the magic wand.

    How its done:

There are three ropes of different lengths. One is long, one is medium and one is short. Fold the longrope in half: Loop the short rope at the bend, and place the medium length rope along side the twolooped ropes (drawing 1). Hide the loops with your thumb(drawing 2). Collect all the ropes in your left list.Pass the magic wand over the fist, and say the magic words, then throw the ropes onto the table, and show the audiences 3

ropes of different lengths (drawing 3).

    8. Telephone Telepathy

    Introduction:

Give a participant a piece of paper that has a telephone dialer printed on it. Ask the participant to writeeither a telephone number or a name (without anyone seeing it), on his piece of paper. The participantshould then fold the paper twice (into 4 equal parts).

Take the paper and tear it up. Then concentrate and to the wonder of the audience, reveal the correctnumber or name. How its done:

The only free space for writing on the telephone dialer is in the center. When folding, this will belocated at the folded corner. When you tear up the paper first tear the corner where the number or nameis written. Hold this part in your palm, and tear the restinto little pieces. Throw the little pieces into

a wastepaper bin while the audience watches. Turn yourback to the audience.Make believe that you are concentrating, and read whatis written on the paper in your palm.

In order to convince the audience that there is no spot on the other side, make half a turn with yourwrist and turn the paddle 180 degrees with your fingers. To show that there is a spot on the paddle useyour other hand to cover the paddle, while you turn around the paddle and then show that a spot hasappeared. You can now show that there a spot on both sides (by making a double turn). Repeat the halfturn, and show the audience that the spot has appeared on both sides of the paddle.Warning:

Do not show both sides of the paddle. Make the turn quickly and smoothly between your 2 finger.Note: if you practice, you can use two paddles and make the half turn with either hand, you will be ableto show the audience, how the spot jumps from paddle to paddle. Show the audience a spotted paddlein your right hand, and a blank paddle in your left hand. Make a half turn of both paddles at the sametime, and the right paddle will become blank while the paddle will have a spot. The spot jumpedfrom the right paddle to the left paddle. You can do this trick by placing a spot onto the paddle as longas you make sure that the same colour spot appears on one side of each paddle.

    10. Thimble turns colours

Place a light coloured thimble on the pointer of your right hand, and show the audience. As you do this, hide a dark coloured thimble in the palm of your right hand. Bend the third finger, and steal thehidden thimble. Make believe you put the light coloured be in your left hand, but actually you put thedark coloured thimble in your left hand, the light coloured thimble in your right hand. Show theaudience the uncovered finger, audience will think that the light coloured thimble is in your left hand.

Say the magic words, and open your left hand to show the audience that the thimble has changedcolours.11. The disappearing thimble

The secret of this trick is quick and nimble hands. That is why you must practice this trick very often.Place the thimble on the pointer of your right hand. Stand so that the right side of your face is towardsthe audience, who will only see the back of your right hand. Band the finger quickly towards yourpalm, and grab the thimble thats in

your palm. The pointer muststraighten out immediately to itsoriginal position. This trick works bestwhen you cover the right hand withthe left hand (at the same time thatyou bend your finger, to grab thethimble). Show the audience that thethimble has disappeared.

Present the cards to theaudience as in Fig. 1. Take the ace and hide it behind your back. Ask; What card do I have left in my

    The Magic Spatula:

Tricks with the magic spatula are an important part of the magicians program. You should start out bylearning the secret movement of the spatula.

    The Secret Magic Spatula Movement:

The spatula is moved in a manner which will deceive the audience. It looks as though you are turningthe spatula over, when you are really always showing the audience the same side. The secret magicspatula movement is made in two stages. Learn them separately but afterwards practice them at thesame time.Stage 1: Hold the handle of the spatula between forefinger and thumb (Fig.1). Hold the handle tightlyso that it doesnt slip. Turn the handle slowly till the spatula turns over (Fig. 2) and you can see theothers side (Fig. 3).This is called a half turn Now do this backwards,

moving your original position, Practicemaking a half-turn until it comes to you easy.Stage 2: Hold the spatula as in Fig. 4, level with yourhips. Turn your hand towards your body, with the

palm of your hand facing the floor (Fig. 5) Now tryto make both movements together. By combiningthese movements, you are letting the audience think

you are showing them both sides of the spatula, when in fact you are only showing them one side (Fig.6). You will sometimes actually need to make what really does appear to be only a half-turn, in order tomake something suddenly appear on the spatula. Do so with a rapid forward movement. This movement prevents the audience from seeing that you have turned the spatula over. Try this, itsvery easy. It is important that you remember to make the secret spatula movement the leisurely, withouthurrying. The secret of every trick with the magic spatula is the same using the secret spatulamovement.
