PV PTO Updates Back to School Night is always fun for the PTO because that is when we unveil the year’s spiritwear design that has taken countless volunteer hours and e-mails to finalize. This year we did introduce the design and the products that will be available for purchase, including for the first time ever a knit scarf! Orders forms have been e-mailed home, are available on the website, and on Facebook. Another first for the PTO is that we can now accept online credit card payments through PayPal!!!! We hope that partnering with PayPal we make things a little easier for parents. We can still accept cash and checks sent in to the school if you would prefer this method of payment. https://prairieviewschoolpto.shutterfly.com/fundraisers. Soon you will be receiving information on the Hot Chocolate Run/Walk, which will be taking place November 6th at 10:45am downtown Grayslake. To ensure we order enough shirts in the appropriate sizes we are asking that you return your registration fee by October 14th. September Cool Tool Responsibility

This month’s lifeskill is responsibi l ity. Use some of the ideas below to reinforce this concept and practice being responsible at home. What is responsibi l ity?

• Being accountable for what you do, for your actions and behavior. • Doing the right thing at the right time, so others can depend on you and trust

you.

What are ways you can show responsibi l ity? • Complete your homework and chores on time without being reminded. • Follow through on your commitments, even when you don't feel like it. • Accept responsibility for your mistakes and learn from them. Don't make

excuses or blame others. • Take care of your things and those of other people. Return items you borrow. • Find out what needs to be done and do it. • Make wise choices, such as choosing to eat healthy foods and wearing a helmet. • Always do your very best. Others are counting on you!

• You broke the wheel off your brother's new skateboard? • Your friend asks you to play and you haven't finished your homework? • You're playing a really fun game at your friend's house and it's time to go

home? • You promised your mom or dad you would clean your room but you just don't

tomorrow? • You agreed to take care of your neighbor's dog while she is away, but now a

friend has invited you to a sleepover? • Your mom is not feeling well and could really use some extra help around the

house? • You forgot to bring your homework home from school, including the book you

need to study for tomorrow's test?

Remember only you have the ability to have responsibility. Be a person others can trust and count on to do the right thing!
