Topic- Please VE Powerpoint from Mrs O’Donnell

We are in the process of designing a banner for VE day celebrations.

Mrs O’Donnell has asked us for some help- Please would you ask your children to think about words that describe how people must have felt on VE day and also words to describe the bravery of the people involved in the war.

Please share They can share the words with you and please forward on to me so I can organise the banner! Some children may want to write a diary extract or a poem to add to the banner.

As the oldest children in the school, also given we have recently done a unit of work on WW2 please, we ask you really spend sometime this afternoon creating a diary

Year 6 things

We thought it would be a good idea to start thinking about the usual end of year 6 things, there is quite a few things to think of.

So put your musical heads on and start thinking of a song that we could fit some meaningful lyrics into for the end of the year song.

Examples from previous years-Rag ‘n’ Bone Man- GiantConor Maynard- 7 Years old

Now put your creative heads on and start thinking banner. Usually it incorporates time in year 6/ time at All Saints. We need to get all our names on it.

Examples- Last year- we chose puzzle for the name as they liked my puzzle we did at the start of the year, Mrs C got married, Miss Bale got engaged, I was 30, Okehampton things etcMr Flynn- used a cookie jar as he loved biscuits.

We have the sweet drawer, we experienced home learning etc.

Take photos of your drawing and upload into you file within teams. We will then look as a class to see what we like from each other’s design to get a final design.Please upload you song lyrics too along with the song name and artist so we can listen, vote on favourite song and tweak lyrics.

We have put two sheets called SPaG 3 and SPaG 4 into a folder, each one has three sheets. The answer sheets are there too. Do one sheet a day. If you finish the sheet quickly, have a go at making some of your own sentences.

This is such a good opportunity to spend some really valuable, special time reading and extending your book list. Sharing that list will help us all walk into other creative worlds. With your reading this week you will see in the guided reading file that there is an uploaded text and then associated questions either WT/ARE or GD. Please write your detailed answered, in full sentences , in your home learning book.Remember PEE)You may find that you have to use the zoom button to be able to read it carefully. Remember that when you answer the questions we need to see that you have used the evidence from the text and really explained why you have answered the question the way you have. We are looking for evidence that you really understand what the author is trying to convey.
