    PRODUCT OVERVIEW

    The display

The Mybelle Headline has a 16 digit display which may be used to show the

    following information :-

Time - When the phone is not in use, the display will show the time. A 24 hourformat is used.

Dialled Digits - During dialling, the display will show the digits dialled.

Call Duration - Whilst in the process of making a call, the display can indicate the

duration of the call. When the phone is not in use, the display can be used to indicate

the duration of the last call made.

Memory Checking - The telephone numbers stored in the memories of the phone,

including Direct memories, Indirect memories, Save memory and Last Number

    Redial can be displayed.

Auto Redial activated - When the automatic repeat dialling function (Multidial), hasbeen activated, the display flashes the digits to be dialled.

Note : In order for the display to function correctly, it is necessary for 2 X AAA

batteries to be installed in the battery compartment under the base of the telephone.

    Memories

In order to simplify dialling, the Mybelle Headline offers 4 types of memories. The

numbers stored in these memories may be easily and quickly dialled.

Last Number Redial - This automatically holds the last number dialled from the

    telephone.

Save memory - Can store the current dialled number for use following other dialled

calls. It may also be used as a scratchpad memory for the storing of a number

obtained in the course of a call.

Direct memories - It has 10 direct memory buttons that may be used to store

frequently used numbers. These numbers may be dialled by picking up the handset

and pressing the relevant direct memory button (M1-M10).

An index card is provided for recording details of the numbers stored.

InDirect memories - In addition to the 10 Direct memories, 20 InDirect memories arealso included, whereby numbers may be stored under the dialling keys 0 to 9. Dialling

from these memories is achieved by picking up the handset and pressing MEMORY

followed by the relevant directory number (dialling keys 0 - 9).

Memory retentionNumbers stored in the memories will be protected during short periods of

disconnection from the telephone line. Following sustained periods of disconnection,

the numbers will be lost and it will be necessary to reprogram them.

    PRODUCT OVERVIEW

    Automatic repeat dialling

Following a call to a busy number, you may press the Multidial button and the

Mybelle Headline will retry that number up to 10 times.

Additional dialling features - for use when connected as an extension

    of an office telephone system.

Recall - Both Timed Break Recall (TBR) and Earth Recall signals can be generated,

with selection between the different signal being made by a switch at the rear of the

    phone.

Recall signals are usually only required if the phone is connected as an extension of

an office telephone system. However it may also be required for access to one of the

additional network services such as the BT Star service. (For further information on

additional network services, please consult your network provider - BT etc.).

Tone Dialling - The Mybelle Headline uses a fast form of dialling (know as TONE or

MF). All BT exchanges are now capable of accepting TONE dialling.

Some older office telephone systems may only accept PULSE dialling. Therefore if

the phone is connected to an office system of this type, it will be unable to dial. If in

doubt, please contact your office telephone system installer.

Pause - Pressing the REDIAL button will allow the insertion of a 4 second pause in a

dialling sequence. When connected as an extension of an office telephone system thatrequires the dialling of a line access digit (usually 9) in front of the telephone number,

the line access digit followed by a pause, should also be entered when storing

numbers in memory. The pause will allow the telephone system time to return an

outside line before the main number digits are dialled

    Headset operation

In addition to normal telephone operation, the Mybelle Headline offers Headset

working (in conjunction with the headset provided). Switching from handset toHeadset (and vice versa) during a call, is also possible.

    .

    Ringing

A switch is provided at the rear of the phone that will allow the selection of High,Low or Off, ringer volumes.

    INSTALLATION

The Mybelle Headline is designed to be desk or wall mounted and simply installed

by plugging into your telephone socket. Correct functioning of the display, requires

    that batteries be fitted.

The telephone handset should be plugged into the socket in the side of the base and

the headset into the socket at the rear.Note: If you do not have a telephone socket or there is not one sited in a suitable

location, please consult your network provider, i.e. BT. etc.

    Ringer Volume switch setting

At the rear of the Mybelle Headline, you will find a 3 position switch that may be

used to adjust the volume of the ringer. The available settings are HIGH, LOW and

OFF. If it is your intention to Wall Mount the phone, the ringer volume switch

should be set prior to mounting as it may be more difficult to set when the phone is

    fixed to the wall.

    Ringer Equivalence Number (REN)

The REN figure is an indication of the maximum number of items that may be

connected to a telephone line. The maximum REN of your line will be 4. In order to

ensure that you do not exceed this limit, add the REN of each item connected to your

line (phones, answering machines, faxes, etc.) and check that it does not come tomore than 4.

The Mybelle Headline has a REN (ringer equivalence number) of 1.and it can beassumed that any unmarked BT instrument, will be a REN of 1.

Please check that your are not exceeding a REN of 4 .If you connect too many items

to your telephone line and exceed a REN of 4, one or more of the items may not ring

    correctly

    Recall switch setting

Also at the rear of the phone, you will find a switch marked ELR - TBR. If the phone

is to be used as an extension to an office telephone system (PABX), this switch

should be set so that the telephone generates the correct recall signal as required bythe office phone system. ELR for systems that require earth recall and TBR for those

that require timed break recall. If the phone is not to be connected as an extension of an office system, then the recall

switch should be set to TBR (timed break recall).

    Installing Batteries (changing batteries)

In order for the display to operate correctly, it requires the installation of 2 x AA

    INSTALLATION

    Wall Mounting

Bracket - The Mybelle Headline has a desk/wall bracket fitted to the underside of the

phone. When you receive your telephone, the bracket will be fitted in the deskmounting position. This bracket needs to be repositioned for wall mounting.

There are two plastic spring clips holding the bracket in place. Squeeze these andpull, to remove the bracket. The bracket should then be reversed and fitted in the slots

provided in centre of the phone. Squeeze the spring clips in the same way to relocate

    them.

Handset clip - In order to hold the handset in place when wall mounted, there is a

reversible wall mounting clip located beneath the hookswitch. Slide this towards the

hookswitch to remove it. Rotate it through 180 degrees and slide it back into position. There will now be a protruding lip onto which the handset will locate when hung

    vertically.

Fixing screws - To attach the Mybelle Headline to the wall, 2 screws are used

The screws should be fixed to the wall, 85mm apart, in a vertical plane. The slots in

the base of the Mybelle Headline will then locate onto these screws. The screws

should be adjusted so that the phone is held securely.

When fitting the screws to the wall, it should be noted that the locating slots in the

base of the Mybelle Headline are offset approx. 10mm from the centre line of the

phone. Please ensure you take account of this when planning the location.

IMPORTANT NOTE : Before fitting the fixing screws to the wall, ensure that the

wall is capable of supporting the weight of the phone and that there are no pipes or

wires hidden in the wall, behind the telephone position. Do not attempt to wall mount

the phone in a position where there is an electrical switch or socket either vertically

above or below the required position, unless you are sure the wiring to that fittingdoes not run behind the proposed telephone location. Also ensure that the telephone

line cord will reach to your telephone socket from the proposed location.
