Job Number ExpansionBug ID 1894

Job Number Enhancements• Expand Job Number to 9 characters• Copy COP number to Shop Order/Job number• Implementation Considerations• Questions

Expand Job Number• Job Number expanded to 9 characters to match shop

order number• All tables updated• All screens changed• All reports changed

Expand Job Number• Field changed across system

– COP > Order Review < Shop Floor > Job Cost > General Ledger

– Purchase > Accounts Payable > Job Cost > General Ledger– Other Modules

• MRP• L&W• EDI• Equipment Maintenance• Estimating

– List attached Microsoft Word 97 - 2003 Document

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• New COP Parameter• Two Options

– Set SO/Job # to COP Order Number or– Set SO/Job # to COP Order & Line Number

• If set to None no change from V9.5• Common request for Make To Order Clients

– Only able to do because of the expansion of the Job field

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Set SO/Job # to COP Order number

– Locks out Job number on COP Header • Assigned to order number

– No restrictions on line numbers

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Set SO/Job # to COP Order number

– All lines sent to Shop have same Job number– Shop orders assigned with “Next” Suffix checked in Order

Review

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Set SO/Job # to COP Order & Line Number• Must select Order Number structure

– Number of digits limited for Order and Line numbers– Limited to 8 digits total (4/4, 5/3, 6/2, 7/1)– 9th digit reserved of SO/Job number prefix (Defaults to “C”)– E.g. Parameter setting below would create SO/Job of

PCCCCCCLL where P is the prefix, CCCCCC is the order number and LL is the line number:

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Set SO/Job # to COP Order & Line Number

– Order number odometer will roll back to 1 based on number of digits set for Order number

– If enter too many lines will get warning– Limit only enforced for Non-stocked, Manufactured Parts

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Set SO/Job # to COP Order & Line Number

– Rule enforced if change SFC/RQ to “Sel to Copy” and part is manufactured:

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Set SO/Job # to COP Order & Line Number

– All lines sent will have unique SO/Job # number– “Next” Suffix NOT checked in Order Review

– If shop/job number to be assigned breaks COP Parameter rules then shop order number is left blank (and will error out)

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Customer Order Interfaces

– eCommerce, eBiz and EDI updated to report rule exceptions:• Header – “COP Order header number is outside the auto job

number parameter rules.”• Line – “COP Order Line number is outside the auto job number

parameter rules and item is non-stock and manufactured”– Every attempt is made to create order even with errors

Implementation Considerations• If setting parameter to SO/Job # to COP Order & Line

Number– Query existing shop orders and jobs to see if there are any

current number overlaps– Review order volume to see if order number of digits is too

limiting– Review maximum number of lines to see if line number of

digits is too limiting– Review order review parameters– Develop procedure for exceptions to order numbering

rules.

COP Number to Shop Order/Job• Set SO/Job # to COP Order & Line Number

– Will want to set order review parameter to “manually” assign shop order number so this can be maintained• Order sources 20 and 30

Web QuotationsBug ID

Web Quotations• http://wwsrv2012:92/TCMPortal/Account/Login.aspx• Written in ASP.Net• Full Blown Application except

– No drill down to dibol functions• Can create COP order but not edit)

– 9.6 Search form only “Equal” on release– No Available to Promise (new in 9.6 Quotations)– Email of Quote replaced by Export to PDF

Web Quotations• Slight differences

– Qty break maintenance is a pop up• Other notes

– Valid in IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari (not yet tested)• Will publish minimum requirements with Software/Hardware

Web Quotations• Search Form

Shop Floor “Real-Time” backflushBug ID 1983

Shop Floor “Real-Time” backflush• The SF posting will no longer have a second pass.

The generation of auto-issue and auto-close transactions are now done via UPDLB when the shop order is updated.

• The UPDLB subroutine is called from Shop Floor, Data Collection, and eProduction (not eProduction Lite) when writing a shop floor transaction. The Shop Floor transactions can be for SHPTRX, SHPEX1, DCSFTX, or SF_SQL_SHPTRX files.

Shop Floor “Real-Time” backflush• The changes to UPDLB are:

– Determine which file we are working with (based on calling routine).

– Update the S/O for the original trx.– Generate Release trx for Blanket trx (labor trx only).– Generate cell trx for post-to-cell operations.– Generate auto-issue trx for countpoint operations.– Generate auto-close trx for “Y” countpoint operation.

Shop Floor “Real-Time” backflush• Changes to UPDLB continued:

– Process operation trx that were generated.• Update the S/O.• Generate Cell trx.• Generate auto-issue trx.

– Process Material trx that were generated.• Update the S/O.• Update inventory.

– Process Auto-Close trx that were generated.• If an error occurs during any of the above, the

process will not continue further.

Shop Floor “Real-Time” backflush• Since all of the above happens at transaction entry, a

new flag is set/updated and a new key was added to determine how far this transaction got in this “pre-post” process.

• During the actual posting stream, the new post flag is checked and, if one section was not totally finished, it will reverse out any “half-baked” trx and restart beginning with that section.

• Note: this same routine (UPDLB) is called during transaction entry and posting.

• MDC (when we bring back the labor transaction,

– MDC will be covered when we bring back the SF labor completion transaction.

– eProduction Lite will not be covered
