The Alcatel-Lucent 9600 USY platform is a family of digital point-to-point microwave radio systems integrated

in a synchronous SDH/SONET network. Designed to meet public and private service providers’ transmission

needs, it is an ideal wireless solution for PDH and SDH/SONET. The increasing demand for high capacity

from mobile solutions or data networks, such as WANs and LANs, can be met by a frequency range from

6 GHz to 38 GHz.

Features

• Split-mount structure withintegrated antenna option

• SDH electrical and optical:STM-0, STM-1/OC-3, 2xSTM-1/OC-3

• 51 Mb/s, 155 Mb/s and 311 Mb/sbit-rate support

• 128 quadrature amplitudemodulation (QAM) for high-spectrumefficiency, 16/32 QAM for highsystem gain

• Frequency reuse option availableat 155 Mb/s and 311 Mb/s bit rates

• User-friendly Windows®-based PCinterface and local and remotesoftware-download capability

• Software-controlled power andfrequency

Benefits

• Offers fast, flexible, reliable andcost-effective solutions for SDHand PDH solutions

• Suits urban-link applications

• Interoperates with other SDHelements/networks

• Delivers compact deployment

• Installs and commissions quickly

Applications

• New radio infrastructure, forexample, STM-1/SONET rings, forcellular service providers enteringthe telecommunications market

• Closure of STM-1/OC-3 and STM-4/OC-12 fiber-optic rings, for new, private or traditional fixed serviceproviders

• Wideband and wireless access, wireless local loop and last-mileapplications, meeting access-marketrequirements, including new accessproviders
