Request for Expression of Interest for Prequalication of
Contractors - (Class G and above)
UNWFP, the United Nations frontline agency in the ght against hunger aims to undertake various
Construction Projects in different locations within Kenya between 2013 and 2015 and hereby solicits
for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible and competent Construction Companies in order to
establish a Shortlist from which potential bidders will be selected.
Companies who are duly registered and authorized in accordance with the prevailing laws in Kenya
are invited to collect registration forms for consideration. The Companies must also hold authorization
to sign and submit Projects to the relevant authorities for approval.
The following minimum documentation is required:
1. Company prole
2. Legal status: documents required include;
a. Certicate of Incorporation. (b)Place of Registration and Principal place of
Business (c) Physical location & contact details (d) Memorandum and Articles of Association (e)
Copy of trading licenses-Minimum 2 years trading period3. VAT Certicate
4. Registration certicate with the Ministry of Public Works in Category Class G and above.
5. Attach lled copy of Pre-qualication form(to be obtained from WFP upon request)
6. The following information to also be provided:
a. List of the major items/Equipment. Mention whether owned or leased, condition and location.
b. Construction projects performed in the last 5 years.
c. Qualication and experience of key personnel proposed for administration and execution of
the construction projects with attached biographical data.
d. Financial reports for the last 2 years.
Interested rms are requested to send an email to [email protected] requesting for the
Pre-qualication forms not later than 22nd February 2013, 14 00 hrs. The Email must contain full
contact details.
Pre-qualication forms will be sent by WFP to the interested rms by email. The rms should complete
these forms, attach all the above requested information/documents and send by pouch, email or
hand-deliver, so as to reach WFP, Kenya by 1st March 2013, 16 00 hrs to the following address:

Box 44482 00100, Nairobi Kenya. Upon evaluation, the shortlisted rms will be informed of their
inclusion in the UNWFP list of bidders.
The expression of interest may be followed by an interview, inspection of ofces, facilities and
other amenities.
Please note that this is not an Invitation to Tender. Rates/prices are not required at this stage, and
this invitation does not bind the World Food Programme to issue any tenders or contracts to the
companies expressing their interest.
