Personal History Jeffrey P. Bezos was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

From an early age, Jeffrey displayed a striking mechanical aptitude. He also developed intense and varied scientific interests.

When he was a teenager, the family moved to Miami, Florida.

In high school in Miami, Jeffrey first fell in love with computers.

He entered Princeton University planning to study physics, but soon returned to his love of computers, and graduated with a degree in computer science and electrical engineering.

After graduation, Jeff Bezos found employment on Wall Street, where computer science was increasingly in demand to study market trends.

His went to work at Fitel, a start-up company that was building a network to conduct international trade.

At D. E. Shaw, a firm specializing in the application of computer science to the stock market, Bezos was hired as much for his overall talent as for any particular assignment. While working at Shaw, Jeff met his wife, Mackenzie, also a Princeton graduate.

He rose quickly at Shaw, becoming a senior vice president, and looked forward to a bright career in finance, when he made a discovery that changed his life -- and the course of business history.

His biggest challengecame in 1995 when he tried to raise $1 million inseed capital to launch his company and keep itoperating for at least two years.

Over a six-month period in early 1995,Bezos met with about 60 private investors. At thesame time, he was also recruiting programmersto develop the website and working out thedetails of starting a company that, as yet, had noprecedent. One day , Jeffrey Bezos observed that Internet usage was increasing by 2,300 percent a year. He saw an opportunity for a new sphere of business, and immediately began considering the possibilities.

He flew to Los Angeles the very next day to attend the American Booksellers' Convention and learn everything he could about the book business. He found that the major book wholesalers had already compiled electronic lists of their inventory. All that was needed was a single location on the Internet, where the book-buying public could search the available stock and place orders directly.

Bezos's employers weren't prepared to proceed with such a venture, and Bezos knew the only way to seize the opportunity was to go into business for himself. It would mean sacrificing a secure position in New York, but he and his wife, Mackenzie, decided to make the leap.

In 2000, Bezos founded ahuman spaceflightstartup companyBlue Origin.

The company was kept under wraps for a half dozen years and initially became publicly known only in 2006.

In a 2011 interview, he indicated that he founded thespace companyto help enable "anybody to go into space" and stated that the company is committed to decreasing the cost and increasing the safety of spaceflight.

Contd..."If you build a great experience, customers tell each other about that.Word of mouth is very powerful.

"We see our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It's our job everyday to make every important aspect of the customer experience a little bit better.

"The most important single thing is to focus obsessively on the customer. Our goal is to be earth's most customer-centric company.

Id rather interview 50 people and not hire anyone than hire the wrong person.

ContdIts very important for entrepreneurs to be realistic. So if you believe on that first day while youre writing the business plan that theres a 70 percent chance that the whole thing will fail, then that kind of relieves the pressure of self-doubt.

If youre not stubborn, youll give up on experiments too soon. And if youre not flexible, youll pound your head against the wall and you wont see a different solution to a problem youre trying to solve.

Well Known forJeff Bezos is famous and well known for his sharp-witted leadership style, an attribute that saw him successfully pitch his start-up company 'Amazon.com' against an established giant 'Barnes & Noble.' THANK YOU!
