YEAR 1 STUDENT
Open up final cut express and go to 'file > Log and transfer, then sync all the media to your mac, then drag and drop the footage you need into the area where it says 'Drag media here'
YEAR 1 STUDENT
Once the footage is in your view in final cut express, double click your footage, and it will appear in the 'Viewer' box where you can view and edit your footage.
YEAR 1 STUDENT
When your footage is in the 'Viewer' box you can simply drag and drop the video its self, into the timeline, wherever fits your best.
YEAR 1 STUDENT
When your clip is in the 'Viewer' box you can play the clip, and when you want to set an 'in' point, you click the little arrow located in the bottom left had corner of the viewer box, then, when you want to set a out point, you click the opposing arrow. Then that clip you drag into your timeline, will only be the part between the 'in' and 'out' arrows.
