4. In the event of there being two or more candidates competing for the prize, it shall be awarded at the discretion of the University Syndicate to the most deserving of them.

5. If the prize is not awarded in any year for any reason and if there are savings in any year, the amount so released shall be added to the original amount.

1. Out of the annual interest the Cash Prize called “KSHEERA

SAGAR’S Cash Prize” shall be awarded at the University

Convocation every year.

2. The award shall be made to the candidate who gets the highest

number of marks among the successful candidates at the first

attempt in the M.A. Degree Examination in Linguistics, securing

at least a second class.

3. In the absence of candidates as per condition No.2 the award shall

be made to the candidate who passes the examination for the first

attempt securing highest number of marks in the M.A. Degree

Examination in Kannada, securing at least a second class.

4. If, in any year, there are two or more candidates obtaining equal

number of marks, the Prize shall be awarded to the best of them at

the discretion of the University taking into consideration of the

results of the previous examination in the order of preference as

envisaged in conditions 2 and 3 above.

5. If, in any year, there will be no. suitable candidate available for the

Award, the year’s interest amount shall be added to the corpus.

6. When an additional amount of Rs. 1,000/- = (Rupees one

thousand) is made available by Sri. B. Seetharama Sastry to the

University, then the present Cash Prize may be converted into a

Gold Medal for the best outgoing student changing the conditions

suitably.
