Springfield Farm at Avoca sold late last year to international fashion designer Collette Dinnigan and her

husband Bradley Cocks. The eight hectare property has two French-style barn-like buildings either side of its sandstone wing. All up there are five bedrooms plus a three bedroom groundkeeper’s cottage. The grounds have a tennis court, ornamental lake, stables and paddocks. Richardson & Wrench Bowral agent Michael Maloney secured the $4.5 million sale for barrister Stephen Flett and his wife Di, who bought the property 11 years ago for $2,525,000, and spent $2.5 million upgrading it.

Former rural publishing tycoon John Armati and his wife Kate have sold their Sutton Forest property

Glencraig for $3.15 million. It had been listed through Belle Property agent Di Dixon. The weekender last traded in 2005 for $3.4 million when bought from retired dentist Reg Hessian and his wife Pam. The five bedroom home was built by John Hewson after he bought the 10 hectare holding in 1994 for $1.16 million. The homestead sits in landscaped gardens, with tennis court, stables and stockyards. The property was marketed as being outside the mining lease application area.

Brolga Brook, the 17 hectare estate at Sutton Forest, has sold for the first time in nearly three decades.

The Mallyon family have owned the

four bedroom home since 1988 when they paid $500,000. The single level, country-style home fetched $1.26 million through Andrew Hearn at Andrew Hearn Real Estate Berrima. Set in a private tree-lined garden, it has shedding, a bore and a chain of ponds.

Range Hill, the four hectare Mittagong property, has been sold for $2,925,000 by the Goldsmith

family. It previously traded in 2009 when sold by the Nolan family at $2.5 million. It is best known as the long-time weekender of Justice Murray Tobias and his wife, Colleen. Designed by local architect Craig Pattinson, the original three bedroom house was extended to five bedrooms around 2002 when known as Bundaleer. Cameron McKillop at McKillop Property, who offered it in conjunction with D’Leanne Lewis at Laing & Simmons, marketed it as a combination of modern luxury, rural splendour and downtown convenience.

Kathy Ward and Peter O’Connell, co-founders of modelling agency Chic Management, have sold their

Kangaloon weekender, Foxhill. The five bedroom homestead with wraparound verandah stands on an 11 hectare parcel with 10 paddocks. Michael Maloney at Richardson & Wrench secured the $2.5 million sale to the Halvorsen sailing family. It last traded for $650,000 in 1998. The extensive equestrian facilities

once homed award-winning showjumper Vettori. Ward, a keen dressage rider, once said of the property, “You get space and you get quietness and you get solitude. It’s a beautiful part of the world.”

Lawyer John Moutsopoulos and Vanessa Seary have listed their Burradoo retreat Abergeldie. The

home on Chisholm Hill dates back to the 1880s, when Dr Edwin Chisholm bought the property from Dr Renwick and built an imposing Italianate mansion. In 1885 it was purchased by Sir Hugh Dixson, whose fortune came from tobacco manufacturing. The Burradoo Road house was set on nine hectares of fine gardens containing exotic botanical species. In the 1920s it was reduced to the current 1.14 hectare holding. The Sydney-based couple paid $2.16 million in 2013 for Abergeldie. It has seven bedrooms, original fireplaces and a French provincial kitchen. Di Jones agent Kate McCullagh has the listing.

Koorawatha, a family home in Burradoo, has been sold by the Moore family after spending just

over a year on the market. The Holly Road sale price has not been revealed but it came with a price guide of $3.4 million plus when first listed. The property sold through Di Jones agent Kate McCullagh. Set on 8,095 square metres, Koorawatha has a sprawling single level floorplan that includes six bedrooms and numerous living and entertaining spaces. These flow out to alfresco areas, the tennis court and the heated swimming pool. The Moore family have owned the home since paying $1,535,000 in 2002.
