Image 5. Well head in foreground, vegetation in background towards Cronin Creek. Willow is in upper right corner; plants in foreground include blackberry and Carex (a wetland/riparian sedge).
Image 6. Trail from road to well, cut by weed-whacker). Wetlands to the right and upland area laden with invasive non-native plants the on left. Uplands to the left have historically been mowed, which likely contributed to proliferation of invasive species (e.g., thistle, anise, fennel, radish).

Image 7. Largest pond and restoration target. The pond currently lacks open water across surface, is dominated by water fern and water lilies, edges are surrounded by dense cattails which fill into pond perimeter, and has introduced vegetation (large broad-leaf Gunnera plant along back right edge of pond). Also of note, Eucalyptus grove in background, where it is reported a pair of red-shouldered hawks nest.
Image 8. Example of dense vegetation impassable to aquatic species that would normally use upland habitat for foraging/nesting/estivation. Vegetation present transitions from cattails surrounding the large pond (left) to other wetland/riparian natives (e.g., Carex), and then invasive weeds (e.g., fennel) associated with the previously mowed uplands on the right.

Image 9. Dense vegetation and non-native species along the edge of the large pond, including ornamental plum (purplish tree in background), water lilies (broad shiny leaves along right), water fern (brown patches in mid to background area of pond), broad-leafed Gunnera (in foreground), and fennel (in the upper left).
