Type 11 construction, the fingers, thumbs, hand andcuff shall be knit on a fully automatic flat bed glove knittingmachine. The cuff, hand, thumb, and fingers shall be knit usingthe number of needles and courses specified in Table III.

~. For type I construction, the cuff shall be knit seamlesswith a true 1 by 1 rib and shall have a non-raveling welt at thetop edge. For type 11 construction, the cuff shall knit seamlesswith a mock rib with an elastic yarn, laid in every other course. The top edge of the cuff shall be overedged with either stitchtype 504 or 505, 14 to 16 stitches per inch, stitching typesimilar to EFd and 3/16 to 1/4 inch gage. The elastic overedgetop of the cuff shall be made by laying in two elastic (spandex)yarns around the top edge of the cuff and stretched as they arebeing overedged. The two stretched elastic yarns and theoveredge stitching shall be sewn around twice and overlapped notless than 1/2 inch. Care shall be taken to assure the first rowof stitching is not cut by the trimming knife when sewing thesecond row. All loose thread ends shall be trimmed to 1/4 ~ 1/16inch from the surface of the glove. The number of needles andcourses shall conform to tables II and III and testing shall bevisual, pass or fail.

~. For type I construction, the hand shall be knit seamlesswith a plain (jersey) stitch. For type II construction, the handshall be knit seamless on a fully automatic flat bed machine witha plain (jersey) stitch. The number of needles and total coursesshall conform to tables II and III and testing shall be visual, pass or fail.

-. For type I construction, the thumb shall be knit seamlesswith a plain (jersey) stitch. The thumb shall be joined to thehand with the center of the thumb in line with the plane of thehand and the fingers so that each glove insert may be worn oneither the right or left hand. The thumb shall be knitted 10courses, narrowed 4 needles (one on each side of thumb both frontand back) and then knit straight to the specified length. Thetip of thumb shall be drawn together and closed over a form witha rounded end so as to insure a well shaped conical tip. Thesame yarn as used for knitting the thumb shall be used to closethe tip of the thumb. For type II construction, thumb shall beknit seamless with a plain (jersey) stitch. It shall beautomatically closed and knitted with the same yarn used for thehand.

Finqers. For type I construction, the fingers shall be knitseamless with a plain (jersey) stitch. Each fingertip shall bedrawn together and closed over a form with a rounded end so aainsure well shaped conical fingertips. The yarn used forknitting the fingers shall also be used to close the fingertips. For type II construction, the fingers shall knit seamless with aplain (jersey) stitch. They shall be automatically closed andknitted with the same yarn as that is used for the hand. Thenumber of needles and total number of courses shall conform toTables II and III and testing shall be visual pass or fail.

Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed andevaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis foraward are contained in the solicitation. Product DemonstrationModels will be retained by the government. One (1) ProductDemonstration Model approved by DPSC under the resultant contractwill serve as a manufacturing standard for the correspondingproduction items delivered under this contract. Offerers areadvised that the Product Demonstration Model does not relieve theauccesaful offerer of his responsibility to perform in accordancewith the Commercial Item Description specified above.
