BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES1
• Hot off the press: Developed over the last 3 months and currently trialling at Manawatu Cold Storage Ltd.
• Old concrete covings identified by MPI as requiring repair or replacement due to dust from dry, old, brittle concrete.
• Open to an alternative material other than concrete
SOLUTION CONSIDERATIONS2
• Approximately 18 metres of coving in total to replace, but ideal if could be replaced in 1m sections
• Ability to withstand cold, dry conditions
• Tough enough to withstand forklift damage
• Not need replacing again
• Easy to install by on-site maintenance team
• Investigate glue or bolt fixing
WHY POLYURETHANE 3
• Polyurethane is an elastomer with the TOUGHNESS of metals and the DURABILITY of rubber. It offers an outstanding alternative to more traditional materials and is now used in many demanding industrial applications
• A broad hardness spectrum, from eraser soft to golf-ball hard, and the ability to form it into any shape desired.
• Can bond polyurethane with many different materials, including steel, wood, plastic and even fibreglass.
