• Dr Komjathy decided to do some missionary work in May 2009 at the time of 40th Birthday

• Contact Rev Ilona Komjathy who contacted DR Edwin Elliott

• Dr Elliott contacted Beth Lantiga

• Beth Lantiga arrange for Dr Komjathy to work thru the Diaconnia in Beregszasz and Nagy Bela to work with local physicians

Initial Work

• August – October 2009

• Treatment and evaluation of patients

• Distribution of Medical supplies

– Glucose meters and strips

– Stethoscopes for physicians and nurses

– Diabetic Medication

– Hyperlipidemia medications

– Hypertensive agents

– IV catheters, IV supplies, IV fluids, sutures, bandages

Larger Work

• Donation to Beregszasz Hospital Pediatric Clinic to Renovate

• Procurement of Portable Ultrasound

• Procurement of 12 ECG donated to Pediatric Clinic in May 2010

• Used to evaluate and treatment the people of Karpathia both at the hospital and at home

• October to May 2010

Future goals of Medical Missionary Work

• Continue to save donated funds for the long term goal of purchasing a CT Scanner for hospital

• Work with Dr Ivan Males, present Medical Director of Beregszasz hospital

• Continue to purchase expense medications and donate glucose meters and strips

• Work with other Missionaries to improve life for the people of Karpathia
