“It is better to be a young “June Bug” than an “old Bird of Paradise”
Mark Twain
Mark Twain might have something here. We all like to feel young and full of life.
Even as we age, we lots of times feel younger than we are. Then again some days we feel
older then we are. As I look through the Bible I see lots of places where we could use
Scripture to reflect on the Love and care the Lord gives to us. The verses of strength that
uplift us and led us on in days like these. I would like to list some verses that you can hold
on to in the days to come.
“Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s
will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all
understanding, will guard your heats and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” (1 Chronicles 6:34)
“We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your
faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.”
(2 Thessalonians 1:3)
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called
to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 4:2)
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with
gratitude on your hearts.” (Colossians 3:16)
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(1 Corinthians 15:57)
“The Lord strengthens and protects me; I trust in him with all my heart. I am rescued and
my heart is full of joy; I will sing to him in gratitude.” (Psalm 28:7)
Keep the Son in your eyes!
