management for a wide range of private and public sector businesses.

We work with a vast number of clients, in every industry, delivering a broad range of services that can be found in one

A Charles Ltd is operated by director Alex Irving, who has spent the past 10 years working within the fast paced FM industry.

We are supported by a well enthused and qualified team of engineers and industry professionals.

Contract cleaning services.

On a nationwide basis our industry leading team

operates sustainable commercial cleaning

services in every sector that you can think of,

from single dwellings through to multinational

commercial offices and warehouses, production

sites and distribution services. We can clean

them all.

Fixed term or one-off contract. Our contract cleaning services are suitable to span an entire range of applications. They are best suited to routine cleaning of

commercial offices, industrial deep cleaning, IT infrastructure delicate cleaning, transport, healthcare hygiene and sports facilities. We are

abler to provide a bespoke turn-key package to support your facility and keep in the cleanest possible condition through our efficient six

sigma approach and delivery.

There is no need to have a fixed term contract with A Charles as we are available for cleaning services on an ad-hock basis or one-off for

your site. If you do decide that you would like to consider A Charles for your cleaning services, you remain in complete control of the

contract and are able to add services at your discretion to include one-off work, external works and deep cleans.

Electrical installation:

With years of experience behind us, our

knowledge of the industry means we are

able to provide a tailor made service that

not only conforms to legislation, but is also

deliverable on time and to budget.

Our electrical installations are

guaranteed for 5 years as standard at

which point we also offer a free re test of

our installation to confirm that it is intact

and conforms to legislation.

A Charles offer installation services to

This gives you the opportunity to decide

exactly which circuits can be tested to better

suit your business operation. Normally this can

be done over a 3 or 5 year term giving you

100% testing within the BS7671 guide lines.

As well as E.I.C.R’s, A Charles also offer

portable appliance testing (P.A.T) which

should normally be conducted annually on all

portable equipment in the work place.

Electrical testing: Electrical testing is a vital part of maintaining

any installation and should be included in your

continual building upkeep and management

plan.

This ensures that your installation is not only

wired to a safe standard but also increases

resilience and reduces downtime due to

electrical fault.

The other benefits of regular testing are to

highlight dangers or potential risks before they

happen and remedy any non-conformities

currently existing within your installation.

At the end of your testing we provide an

electrical installation condition report (E.I.C.R)

which details every circuit that makes up your

installation and its characteristics.

Generally, testing of commercial installations

should be conducted at 5 year intervals and

industrial at 3 year intervals.

In order to reduce the downtime and upfront

cost we offer our testing services on an annual

contract where we can test a percentage of

your overall installation on each visit.

A Charles offer a range of air-conditioning services from

annual maintenance and repair of your existing refrigeration

system to complete design, installation and after care

packages to ensure all year long running.

We specialize in data centres, server rooms and office air-

conditioning (comfort cooling) but also offer our expertise for

cold rooms, freezers and chillers. We also supply and

maintain all sizes of units with all types of refrigerant.

It is vital that air conditioners are properly maintained to give

you the most economical and efficient circulation of air and

to extend the service life of your system.

All our engineers are F-Gas certified and we are proud to

promote good business standards in our industry. At the end

of your works carried out by A Charles, we would appreciate

any feedback to help us maintain a good level of customer

service excellence and continual development.

Air conditioning:

Fire safety is of paramount importance to any business

operation in order to protect staff, the business premises and

assets from fire in the work place.

A Charles offer design and installation of simple to complex

addressable fire systems to protect you in the event of the

un-expected.

If you feel that you are unprepared for fire, or you need to

improve your processes in advance of a fire inspection then

give the sales office a call where we will be happy to

arrange a site survey and recommendation report.

Installation services.

When a new fire alarm system is installed by A Charles, we

also include a 1 year service plan where we visit your

premises 6 monthly to conduct testing and maintenance of

your fire system. Once this 1 year period has passed you are

also able to take out a further maintenance contract with A

Charles and spread the cost though out the year.

Maintenance services.

The benefits of having a fire service plan include out of hours

dedicated staff, a response time of 12 hours on average to

callouts and 365 day care. This service can be spread over as

many sites a you have at a fixed monthly or quarterly

payment plan.

Fire systems:

Lighting design:

This can ensure that lights are only used when someone is

working in that area and is especially useful in areas where

there is infrequent or little traffic throughout the day.

Energy efficient:

With lighting usually costing around 60% of a buildings

energy consumption, it may pay to make the move to LED

lighting. With an average life span of 50,000 hours, you will

see a reduced running and maintenance cost.

LED lighting is available to all types of installation from office

lighting, to industrial warehousing and also emergency.

To gain an accurate measure of the savings to be made we

would record your average lighting energy consumption and

recommend the most efficient lighting to suit your needs.

A Charles generally offer lighting systems in 4 different

catagories:

Emergency:

Emergency lighting is normally required by law in most

places of work and usually comes in a ‘maintained’ or ‘non-

maintained’ state. This means it is either normally lit or

normally not lit respectively.

A Charles offer emergency lighting to comply with BS5226.

This includes the design and installation of electrical

emergency escape lighting systems, in order to provide the

lighting performance needed for safe movement of people

in the event of the supply to normal lighting failing.

Office:

Office lighting is an important factor to consider when

looking at the environment you work in. Having the right lux

level and type of lighting in an office can affect how

people react, think and respond as well as general comfort.

Industrial:

Generally Industrial lighting is a mixture of 'high bay' and

'low bay lighting'.

Depending on the frequency of use, A Charles offer passive

infrared switching as well as conventional mechanical

switching of you lighting system.

Training and development: Functional Skills:

Basic numeracy and English skills training is available to all persons wishing to improve their understanding and ease of use of math’s and

English in every day life. Tuition is available in group sessions from our City & Guilds qualified teachers and can provide a tailored package

to suit the needs of your workforce.

Manual Handling:

Manual Handling training is a necessity for all employees in the workplace. The training programme consists of a 1 day workshop where

your employees can safely learn to assess a load and its weight before moving it and learn what weights can be moved, where to ask to

help and how to deal with difficult and problem loads. Class sizes are for a maximum of 10 students per session.

First Aid:

First aid courses conducted by A Charles Ltd are offered in place of work for up to a maximum of 10 students per sessions. The basic first

aid course is suitable for all employees in the workplace and will provide a good overview and understanding of basic first aid and

emergency procedures.

ESOL:

Communication is often an underappreciated function of business activity and can easily impair the functionality of a business and its

appearance. Our ESOL training courses provide a tailor made training programme to suit your employee’s abilities when English is not their

first language.
