Impact on mentors
• Unable to collect data because mentors did not respond to survey
• In future may ask participants (students) to help survey their respective mentors or a-chieve team to directly interview mentors
AnalysisSupporting/favourable factors
Intake
• FB ad targeted at parents on top of students (parents - key influencer of students)
• Application form of 12th round adjusted to be more user-friendly (easier to apply)
Process• Improved workshop content & communication tools
(better supported learning)
External factors
• Increase in awareness of the importance of understanding oneself and aspirations
• Driven by an increase in Openhouse activities organised by universities and programs similar to a-chieve shadow
Analysis (cont’d)
Unintended event Rectification
Unable to detect unqualified students
A more stringent interview process required
Recommendations
Expand mentor poolRecruit more mentors from the healthcare sector (persistent high demand from students) Recruit outside of existing connections/networks
Increase frequency• Shorten program duration to organize
more rounds during semester break • Shorter program lowers barrier for
upcountry students
Collaborate with local partners• Leverage networks and resources of
local partners to organise job shadow for upcountry students, e.g. Ma:D Esan
Follow up with alumniConduct interview/focus group to investigate the other support they require in choosing the right academic stream, university, etc. Consider whether a-chieve can provide those support or should leverage external support, e.g. alumni network

Analysis
Impact
• Career sessions took place simultaneously - students may have missed some occupations
• a-chieve partnered with Ma:D Esan to organise FFF in Udon (expanding to upcountry)
• FFF stimulated similar events in Phuket, Surat Thani (organized by provincial government)
Performance• Exhibition may not be the most effective communication
method
Gaps & Opportunities
• Students also interested in academic path and would like advice from seniors
• FFF contents also suitable for university students • May invite more speakers from the more popular occupations
External factors
• Event date close to other major events helped to attract upcountry students
• Junior high school students may not be able to make decisions by themselves; need approval and company from parents
Analysis (cont’d)Unintended event Rectification
Delay in event resulting in low turnout
Reminder before event; may consider charging entrance fee (to lock in commitment)
Unable to collect feedback of certain groups
Use QR code + Google form instead of paper survey to increase data collection
efficiency
RecommendationsMore interactive format
During the event, may set up booths/stations to enable more interactions between students & mentors Capture content from mentors’ talk and publish on website in case some students had missed some sessions May also survey interests/preferences before recruiting mentors
Add parents-specific sessions• May add sessions that provide
guidance to parents in helping their children to choose their academic/career path (if parents is still one of the impact target group)
Add content on academic path• May recruit university students or staff
as mentors to provide advice to high school students
Expand target group• May promote the event to university
students since career guidance is also of interest to them
