A Chorus Field Trip to see…

What is it?

The LNMS Boys Choir has been given the wonderful opportunity to see the musical Newsies at the Orlando Repertory theatre! This high energy Broadway musical enjoyed a blockbuster national tour that concluded in 2016. The Orlando REP is the first theatre in the southeastern United States – and is one of the first theatres in the country – to subsequently produce Newsies.

When is it? September 26th

Transportation: Buses

Cost: $10 for students and chaperones

Leave from School : at 8:30 a.m.

Return to School : at 1:45 p.m. and go to Period 5

What do I bring for Lunch: bring a non-perishable lunch in a disposable bag with your name on it.

We will supply cold water. We will eat a picnic lunch right outside the theatre at Loch Haven Park.

What to Wear: The new Chorus t-shirt and jeans with sneakers

Chaperones: We need six chaperones. If you are interested, please indicate so on the next form. You will also

need to become ADDITIONS approved and fill out a chaperone application. This can be found on

www.lakenonachorus.com under “chorus parents”.

SCHEDULE AT A GLANCE

8:30 a.m. Meet at LNMS dressed in your chorus shirt and jeans/sneakers and sack lunch LABLED

8:45 a.m. - Load the buses and head to The Orlando Repertory Theatre

9:45 a.m. Arrive at the Orlando Repertory Theatre

10:30 am. NEWSIES starts!

12:30 a.m. – NEWSIES ends!

12:30 – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch in the park right outside the theater at Loch Haven Park

1:00 p.m. – Load buses and return to LNMS by 1:45 p.m.

1:45 p.m. – Report to Period 5

I give my son permission to participate to attend Disney’s Newsies the Musical on September 26th from 8:30

a.m. – 1:45 p.m. I understand that he will be transported by bus to and from the event and should bring a

bagged/labeled lunch. I hereby give my consent of the above-mentioned student to engage in this school-

approved activity. I also give my consent for my student to be transported in connection with this activity. I

further give my permission for the appropriate school staff or their designees to render emergency treatment or

authorize medical treatment by a hospital and/or doctor associated with an injury. I agree to hold the School

Board Employees harmless in the administration of such emergency assistance.

I understand that I am representing Lake Nona Middle School on this field trip. I will abide by the OCPS Code

of Student Conduct and will represent my choral department with dignity and respect. I will honor the

instructions of the parent chaperones and understand that it is my duty to appreciate and respect them. If I fail

to abide by these guidelines set before me, I will not perform with my choir and will furthermore endure the

consequences of my actions upon returning to school.
