Scrooge

Ebenezer Scrooge is a rich and old man who loves money more than people. He hates Christmas and giving money to the poor people. He rejects a Christmas dinner invitation, and he overworks his working man, Bob Cratchit.

Marley's ghost

At night, Scrooge's partner Jacob Marley, dead for seven years, visits him in the form of a ghost. He has come to warn Scrooge and save him. He tells him Three Spirits will come to him over the next three nights.

Ghost of Christmas past The first ghost, that of Past Christmas, shows him scenes from his life as a young man. He had a sad and lonely childhood, but he won the heart of a good woman whom he lost through his love for money.

The second ghost, the Ghost of Christmas Now, shows Scrooge that people can spend a happy Christmas day without much money. He shows him Fred, his nephew, and Bob, his working man, enjoying Christmas with

their families. However, the ghost also shows him two sad sights: that of Bob’s ailing son and that of two other children.

Ghost of Christmas Present

The third ghost, the Ghost of Future Christmas, shows

Scrooge scenes after his death. Everybody is happy that he has died. Only the Cratchit family is very sad – their son Tiny Tim is dead. It is then that Scrooge decides change his future.

Ghost of Christmas Future

When Scrooge gets up after the visits, he orders a big goose for the Cratchits, promises to help the poor and dines at his nephew’s house. Scrooge, now a changed man, becomes a second father to Tiny Tim, who, fortunately, doesn't die.
