The Visits of the Ghosts
Scrooge was haunted by Jacob Marley (pictured), his deceased business partner
The ghost warned him he would be visited by another three spirits
The first was the Ghost of Christmas Past
Scrooge was reminded of what he might have had

THE GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT
• They visit the Cratchit family to show that you can be happy and poor
• Makes Scrooge feel guilty for paying him poorly
• They meet Ignorance and Want – a boy and girl symbolising greed and poverty in the cities
• People did not have many kind words to say about Scrooge

The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come
• Scrooge has died a lonely, miserable man and buried in a dark, gloomy, graveyard
• Tiny Tim has also died • Scrooge says: “I will honour Christmas in
my heart, try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, Present and the Future. The spirits of all three will strive within me.”
