Man’s Eternal Quest

Page 2: A Circular Story

Man woke up naked to an empty, savage world. He sheltered himself from danger and sought comfort from the harsh enviroment. An enviroment in which he had no control.

Man then discovered fire and used this fire for many things. First, he used the fire to melt metal and create strong, lite tools to help him fight and hunt.

Man soon realized that he could use this fire to do more than create ob-jects. He realized that when combined with other elements he could use this fire to project and move objects. He invented guns, engines, and rockets.

With combustion and steam power, man began to understand the essence of fire as energy. He grasped the concept of thermo dyanmics, and harnessed this energy to produce electricity.

Intoxicated by power, man sought bigger and better ways to harness ener-gy. He created nuclear power to power whole nations and cities, and pro-pel things through space more effectively.

Soon superluminal transportation was possible and man began to explore the vast universe around him. He discoverd new modes of living in differ-ent enviroments that defied what man knew on earth. In man’s eternal quest to go where noone has gone before, they became lost in space, forget-ting about the planet they had once come from.

In the mean time, Earth became a wasteland of man’s many failed experi-ments and internal conflicts . Experiments with energy eventaully caused the earth’s magnetic fields to shift, flipping the earth on its head. North became South. Land became water. All record of human existence and knowledge was lost.
